(CNN) – Meghan McCain says she's ready to quit Twitter all together after generating a wave of criticism from users of the popular social networking site Wednesday night for posting a picture of herself in a tank top that left little to the twitterverse's imagination.

The controversy began quietly enough when McCain, the vocal daughter of the former Republican presidential candidate, tweeted that her self described "spontaneous" night in included reading a biography of the iconic artist Andy Warhol and ordering takeout.

It was there the 24-year old McCain posted the photo of herself wearing a tank top that generated the subsequent controversy .

"you would cheat on your wife, cheat on your kids, devalue yourself just to have sex - period. "

You totally misunderstand the game

“are you writing a college thesis on this topic? ; ) if so, i will correct your spelling of euphemism, so you don’t get points taken off, LOL!”

Professors tend to care about little things like punctuation and capitalization, too, so I hope this is just a pastime for you, too.

Nicely said Mr. B - it does put those men into a catagory with fence jumping dogs - only zeroing in on a target, despite fleas, or disease, or even temperment. lol

“It’s not like we’re comparing ruling the world to sleeping with a woman you work with.”

I meant to say: “However, it’s not like we’re comparing...”

The point being, both sleeping with a celebrity and ruling the world are outside the normal course of events for most people.

Bill Clinton was a great example of “dog philosophy”...

“If you can’t eat it or screw it, pi$$ on it.”

You have an excellent point. As I said somewhere up thread, I love men, I have male friends, they are not idiots like the media portrays them. But, it surprised me (initially) when I saw how many conservative men acted like that in public. I know guys are guys in private with their friends, but this is different.
In fact, now that I think about it, it’s kind of like Megan McCain posting that photo on Twitter.

Sounds like you need to get l*id friend. You have woman issues, maybe bitter about the prom queen turning you down. Let it go.

Even there, we are NOT to act like that...
Eph 5:3-4
But among you there must not be even a hint of sexual immorality, or of any kind of impurity, or of greed, because these are improper for the Lord's people. 4 Nor should there be obscenity, foolish talk or coarse joking, which are out of place, but rather thanksgiving.

“As I said, I”m sorry you can’t see your statements the way most people do. I have already homeschooled a teenage boy - I can’t spend much more time trying to get you to understand reality.”

For the record, I didn’t even play the game. Not on this thread, and hardly ever in my entire life. But there are a lot (a LOT!) of people who do, on a regular basis. Do they not form some part of “most people”? I’m sure they’d understand my position. As for this so-called “reality,” I find it ironic that a game of make-believe caused you to cast dispersions on my understanding of it.

Sure, I understand that, but I think most men probably do say things with their buddies they would not say in public as a bonding thing. Women gossip (which is also not Biblical). Human nature.

“That’s so shallow it is sad, but you want to keep making excuses for it.”

I don’t offer justifications intended to excuse its shallowness. Some things are shallow and don’t pretend to be anything else.

“you can’t say you would do it but it won’t happen - it is would you do it?”

No, it is pretty much you would do it but it won’t happen. Basically, the question is “Is she sexually attractive?” The sooner you realize that, the better you’ll understand the phenomenon.

“I really am always puzzled by the number of men in these threads who say, ‘I’d hit that’. Really, why do they feel the need to voice that? Do they think it’s funny? Are they trolling for dates? I’m really curious.”

Have you never discussed whether or not someone is attractive? People care about physical beauty. That’s all it is. It’s not that puzzling.

Do you then agree that there might be a difference between
“oh, she is an attractive woman”
and
“I’d f’ that!”

Basically, the question is “Is she sexually attractive?”

That puts it all together nicely. Odd how those answering affirmative are dumped on and those calling her a pig get to go on their merry way.

“It’s the denigration of the man that our society promotes. These guys are unwittingly falling right into the worldly trap.”

Actually, most human societies throughout history—at least those that put taboos on sexual behavior, which I assume is all of them—have assumed that men are relatively degenerate by nature. And all these things, the family, the Church, and social rules arose to chain the man into caring for his children. Certainly, women don’t need institutions to inform them they need to sit at home and tend to the kids.

We don’t need society to promote such instincts. What’s happened, if anything, is that society has removed various barriers that used to reign in behavior. That’s the real trap.

“When some male says it too me I usually tell them maybe you’d hit her but I can assure you she wouldn’t hit you, except with a flyswatter.”

You can point that out if you like, but it’s changing the subject. Either that, or it’s an argumentative fallacy. What’s at issue is the woman’s beauty, not her willingness to sleep with me. Which is one of the reasons why, in posing the question, her willingness is assumed.
