We never had a ‘gun day’ at school; but when I was in school; every truck had a gun rack in the back window. Ammo was on the seat; we’d go from school directly to the marsh to hunt ducks after shool. Bring the .22 along to shoot gophers - and it was never a big deal.

Today, my fear would be that someone would smash the windows and steal my rifle or shotgun.

Those were great times. Young people today don’t understand how great it was to live in what was the freest country in the world. I mean real freedom not the stuff that passes for it today.

I went to grade school in the 40’s and many times I brought my .22 to shool with ammo so I could hunt after school. I just gave it to the teacher to watch over it. No questions asked. I wonder what todays PC bastards think of that., I imagine like Glenn Beck says, blood would be squirting out of their eyes!! :-)
