Good find!
That part of the wall that looks like camo actually looks like real leaves lying on the ground.
...and the top of the wall beside Stanley Armour has a dip in it...yes, the masonry on his side appears totally different, and the light on the patch of what appears to be cement is far too bright...
Don’t forget that strange patch between Madelyn’s leg and obama...
I think this is a composite of a number of elements.
I agree. It’s nothing. But the whole picture is quite interesting.
The photos you’ve found don’t show a plain stone or cement border next to the bench as in the photo of the grandparents. I wonder if any of those benches have such a border.
Central Park West, the road that borders the west side of Central Park, has a wide cobblestone walk along the east side, and ends at a masonry wall that looks to be of great age by its weathering and moss green hue. This is on the way south from our hostel to the subway station at 103rd Street.
There’s the wall.
There’s the bench.
There are trees in the background.
Some of the benches without a backrest, seat TWO people. Some seat THREE.
Maybe Stanley Armour and Madelyn sat on a bench for TWO in the original image?
To add the third person, the bench had to be extended. And that accounts for the bright light between obama and Madelyn’s leg. She was originally sitting at the end of the bench.
It appears the extension to the bench and the wall was made on both ends.
The dip in the wall behind Stanley Armour may indicate where the wall/background was extended.
That’s how it appears to me. Others will probably see more.
Here’s a link to skinny man on bench, (the image seems to have disappeared from my post.) Compare it to three large people sitting on half a bench.
ok...my last obsessive comment about this photo. Stanley’s floating hand actually DOES look like HIS hand (look at his other hand), but if his arm was ever raised, you would think there would be a crease in the shoulder blade of his jacket.
Ok...I am done with this mysterious, altogether poorly-contrived, complicated photo that made it into the NYT with a floating hand.
hmmm..I get a message...I’m not authorized to look at that the page.
MHTinTN had an excellent explanation for that ‘floating hand’ ...
I was hoping to hear from MHTinTN.
(Something about it’s the same hand, just inverted somehow.)
lol; I haven’t been able to get the bench picture out of my mind since PhilDragoo re-edited it. Why take such labors to end up with such a poor quality final product?
Not sure, but creating one's own personal history is labor intensive.
There are few pics of Toot. This is the last one that I know of.
So? What are you getting at and what difference does it make? He had apt’s with 2 different guys, one on the East side one on the West. ??????? What is your point and what difference does it make?
And then there is this:
This photo was taken around the same time. Two photos, same ring. NO WOMEN.
Nah, you can Google it or search for it on here. There is tons of info regarding both issues.
Good catches, I missed that entirely. There is not a doubt in my mind he was gay. NONE.
I agree. I think they are holding hands. What that other thing is, I don’t know. I know what it looks like.
