On The Losing Side Of A Credit Battle
By Bill Bonner
10/06/09 London, England
Where have all the jobs gone
long time passing
Where have all the jobs gone
long time ago
Where have all the jobs gone
Gone to graveyards everyone
When will they ever return
Oh when will they ever return
Sung to the tune of Where Have All the Flowers Gone?
Many lost jobs in US will never come back says The Wall Street Journal.
Need we explain why? Because theyre not lost, waiting to be rediscovered. Theyre not missing in action, to be repatriated after the fighting stops. Instead, theyre dead. Gone forever.

I agree there is little conservatism going on in the markets. Or gov’t. As a result, our country is stratifying itself into the haves and have nots, and without strong middle class we are in trouble.
parsy, who thinks Main Street is more important than Wall St.
“We havent had men as leaders for a very long time.”
True. We have had a pack of “sloganeers.” I have a hard time finding one true person of vision in either party, or one that I even halfway trust.
parsy, who hates to be a cynic
You can cut taxes all day long but federal spending just isn’t going to go down. Hasn’t in 30 years. It looks to me like the problem is so out of hand, that taxes can not be raised enough to pay off deficit, what with socsec and medicare bubbles about to hit. I just think we have bad choices and worse choices left.
parsy, who isn’t normally this pessismistic
