ST. LOUIS (AP)Green Bay Packers fans are known as cheeseheads. Could fans of the St. Louis Rams soon be dittoheads?
Conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh said Tuesday he is teaming up with St. Louis Blues owner Dave Checketts in a bid to buy the Rams, owners of the NFLs longest losing streak at 14 and just 5-31 since 2007.
In a statement, Limbaugh declined to discuss details, citing a confidentiality agreement with Goldman Sachs, the investment firm hired by the family of former Rams owner Georgia Frontiere to review assets of her estate, including the NFL team.
Limbaugh also declined to discuss other partners that might be involved in the bid, but said he and Checketts would operate the team.

What is it with the State of Missouri and football?
I like the St. Louis Rush.
oh yeah...this is gonna be FUN! Especially if they get into a game where they pick Donovan McNabb five times. “Reject Cap and Tax” patches on all the player uniforms! And what about if they make a coaching change and the NFL tries to enforce the Rooney Rule? Not to mention all of the exploding heads on ESPN’s Countdown show!!
Here in L.A. we fondly (well not really) refer to the Rams as the Pams. Georgia Frontiere did as much as she could to destroy the franchise.
It may be a bargain Rush, but are you sure? ;-)
Helllooo. There's a big city clear across the state with it's own football team. And we couldn't care less what he does with the Rams.
Though that does raise a question. Would organizations take it out on Rush by launching boycotts of the football team he owns? And is there anyone who doesn't think that the NFL wouldn't cave to the pressure?
I wouldn't brag too much about that.
Normally I wouldn't. But against the Rams? They make the Chiefs look gooood.
Looks like he’s trying to buy them.
Take heart. The Rams aren't likely to improve overnight, no matter who buys them. And I hope Rush does.
no way. he’s not a billionaire.
We call them the Lambs but I’m sure everyone else does too.
The other teams must. LOL
This is the best thing that could happen to the Rams who are arguably the worst team in the NFL. Their ownership has had no interest in putting the reasources into building this team into a winner since their last Super Bowl appearnce.
I thought that was "Fly Guy" in "I'm Gonna Git You Sucka."
Neither will the Chiefs. This team was several years in the making and will be several years in the rebuilding.
Not after the ass-kicking we received last night we're not.
Los Angeles is still without a team, and a loophole in the Rams lease allows them to move as early as 2014 if the Edward Jones Dome is not deemed among the top quarter of all NFL stadiums. Though just 14 years old, the dome is fast becoming one of the leagues older venues, and getting it into the top quarter seems unlikely.
That is a loopole for the current owners. The article in the Post-Dispatch made it clear that Rush/Checkett would keep the team here. Beside, Checkett can’t move the team because of his ownership of the Blues - the NFL now forbids owning other sports teams in other markets.

Exactly correct.
Putting aside the unprecedented measures that St. Louis had to put forth to get the Rams in the first place, all of the teams current problems, including their vulnerability toward moving “back to LA” (snicker) stem from lack of an interested owner.
After 25 years of Bill Bidwill’s historically inept NFL ownership, I’d take even Al Franken as owner if he would take care of the franchise and fans and at even AVERAGE level.
