I've known about the Warsaw Uprising for many year, but I'm reading "Unintended Consequences" right now, and there is a good re-telling of the tale in that book.
The whole reason we have the Second Amendment is so that we have the means to fight our own government, trading up our personal weaponry for military-grade hardware as the opportunity presents itself.
Edelman knew the score.

“Mila 18” is also pretty good.

God bless his soul, and grant a worthy warrior a Home in Heaven. We’re short on folks like him nowadays...

Mr. Edelman is in a much nicer place than that piece of filth who is aiming a gun at a 5year old child (referring to the posted picture).
Never again.

I know I have a heart, because it BREAKS every time one of these gentlemen passes away.
I’m involved with many WWII veterans, and it kills a piece of me as well, every time...Like the best and most decent part of us is leaving.
And it fills me with an anger as well - as what they fought and bled for is being eroded and deliberately ripped apart.
Ya’ll know the rest, brother. I’ll save the vitriol for a later time. I’m sure we’ll get PLENTY of opportunity to vent it.
What did Yamamoto say? “I fear that all we have done is awaken a sleeping giant, and filled him with a terrible resolve...”
..and of course, our P-38s blew him out of the sky over Bouganville not quite a year later, after Pearl Harbor...
Yeah...we’re AMERICANS. We’re like that.

It was Mr., but I could see the confusion:
“Paula Sawicka told The Associated Press that Edelman died at her family’s home at 2 p.m. EDT (1800GMT) of old age. “
The “her” referred to Paula.

The US and the British wanted to air drop ammunition and grenades into Warsaw, but that meant they would have to land in Russia to refuel for the trip back. Stalin refused landing rights for the allied planes, calling the Warsaw freedom fighters “criminal adventurers” who didn't deserve help.

Thank you! I’m so jet-lagged. Just got back from Frankfurt yesterday. (I thought Marek was a man’s name!)

I read "Mila 18" when I was about 16 years old.
That Book completely and profoundly changed my life.
It personalized "evil" in my mind. A concept I rarely thought about at the time

Stalin ordered his partisans to liquidate all self-identified “Jewish Partisans,” because he thought they would complicate the post-war situation. He was a regular piece of work.
