I was coming back from the store, listening on the car radio and I had to just sit in the car. I couldn’t believe Rush was not making a sound. I listened till he went to a break, but I have the rest taped.

Send each congress critter an individualized customized Pink Slip to be enforced in the next election if they vote for: government health care and/or cap and trade, etc.
WorldNetDaily has apparently teamed with FedEx. The end result is that you can send each one of the 535 congresscritters (House + Senate) an individualized pink slip with their name on the top and your name and address on the bottom. Cost is $30 total for all 535 individualized customized pink slips including FedEx delivery to their individual offices.
Great idea. I wish I’d thought of it. Apparently over 1 million have been sent to date. Also saves over $200 in stamps and avoids days, if not weeks, of delay as House and Senate snail mail is specially irradiated someplace in Ohio before delivery. Apparently, FedEx ‘Pink Slips’ go directly to each House Congressman and Senator office within three days.

Do they have the authority to officially quarantine patients? She ought to check with her local Dept of Health because I worked at a hospital for 17 years and at a Dr’s office for 2 and I don’t think they do, quite honestly. I think quarantine has to be done through the Dept. of Health. A Dr can offer suggestions about keeping other people away etc, but not legally order a quarantine on his own or order family members out of their own home. She REALLY needs to check on that. Don’t think a Dr has any legal standing on this one. What is he going to do, run daily checks at the home to see who is there? Yeah right, they don’t even do housecalls anymore.
Encourage her to call. While the swine flu needs to be taken seriously, it’s not ebola or the bubonic plague.
I’ll pass it along. I agree Swine flu is serious, but so is regular flu. The way my lib co workers were acting just peeved me too. To be honest, I don’t know all the facts surrounding the situation because a little girl recently (Sunday) passed away that attended the same school as her son, and she was so upset when she called, but I couldn’t believe what she was telling me.
Hey, I just did some checking online re quarantines and it looks as though the Director of Public Health can issue them if they feel it’s necessary although it’s not being done with any great regularity as far as I could find out.
Interestingly enough, the PH quarantine orders state that people who have come into contact with the infected person must also remain in quarantine. This would definitely be members of the household (that agrees with what I thought - that a household is quarantined, not one or two members). Because it makes no sense to order other members out of the house and out into the public or other private homes, when in all likelihood, they’ve been exposed too. While they should exercise every precaution and keep the little one resting at home, it doesn’t appear that the Dr has the legal authority to order a quarantine or have anyone arrested or removed if they disregard him. Just some FYI for your friend.

It’s all disturbing to me...I remember years ago, when both my father and I had a TB test come back positive, and we were diagnosed with “inactive TB”, we had to take a 6 month round of medication (I was in high school); and if we were one day late refilling the prescription, the health department called and threatened quarantining us. I remember being scared to death I was going to be locked up somewhere, so I guess that is why this disturbs me so much.
Once symptoms present, though, I would assume that the other members of the household have been exposed. I’m not “up” on the flu, etc. and most medical issues, but I thought that was usually the case - that you’re most contagious prior to exhibiting symptoms. Just seems like overkill to me, but what do I know?
