Do they have the authority to officially quarantine patients? She ought to check with her local Dept of Health because I worked at a hospital for 17 years and at a Dr’s office for 2 and I don’t think they do, quite honestly. I think quarantine has to be done through the Dept. of Health. A Dr can offer suggestions about keeping other people away etc, but not legally order a quarantine on his own or order family members out of their own home. She REALLY needs to check on that. Don’t think a Dr has any legal standing on this one. What is he going to do, run daily checks at the home to see who is there? Yeah right, they don’t even do housecalls anymore.

I’ll pass it along. I agree Swine flu is serious, but so is regular flu. The way my lib co workers were acting just peeved me too. To be honest, I don’t know all the facts surrounding the situation because a little girl recently (Sunday) passed away that attended the same school as her son, and she was so upset when she called, but I couldn’t believe what she was telling me.
