US planning missile bases in Poland: report

WARSAW — The United States aims to establish missile bases in Poland, after having scrapped plans fiercely opposed by Russia to deploy a missile shield in the country, a Polish newspaper reported Friday.

Citing Polish diplomatic sources who spoke on condition of anonymity, Gazeta Wyborcza said Washington aimed to set up a permanent short- and medium-range missile base as well as deploy mobile missile batteries.

The plan is set to take shape within days, said Gazeta Wyborcza, a leading daily that is considered well informed on the issue.

It said Andrzej Kremer, Poland's deputy foreign minister, was due to travel to Washington on Monday.

It means the USA and Europe will be defenseless against Iran's LONG range missiles.

This is likely a good move if their is a missile base there it could likely be reset to missile defense extremely quickly if needed or flat out set up that way in the first place. It wouldn’t be difficult to import interceptors along with the regular missiles. I am not an Obama fan, but that doesnt mean everything he does is stupid, this could be a smart thing. It takes the political pressure off and could yeild the same result.

He has not done a THING to help this nation, not ONE. So, if he does something that APPEARS to help our country, I have to think I’m missing the part where we get screwed. So, he appeases the Russians by cancelling the missile shield, but then provokes them by saying he’s going to put offensive missiles in place. If I were Poland, I’d just tell him to get the F out of my country.
