This thoughtful interview is well worth the time.
I searched under keywords- couldn’t find it anywhere on FR.
This is a terrific exchange!
I would vote for Mr. Smith which is very odd since I’m a “racist”.
Thanks for the ping on this interview. I missed it the other day and it’s definately a ‘Must Hear’!
You’re right... Well worth the time. I don’t think Stephan A. Smith will get me to come back to MSNBC, but the guy is honest and articulate and has a good sense of what Conservatism is all about.
He makes clear he’s not a conservative- but that he has conservative ideas. That’s fine- it’s not expected that agreement in one area will mean agreement in all. I think what’s important is that Smith cares about liberty- and clearly sees the ways it’s being taken from the country. He doesn’t like it and he doesn’t trust it- and more importantly- he’s willing to say so publicly.
If you are a minority and don’t listen to talk radio, watch Fox or go on Freerepublic or other Conservative websites, you have no clue just how dramatic the changes sweeping our country, our constitution, are. Stephen A. Smith has it right, there need to be voices for liberty and freedom outside of talk radio. He grew up in the inner city of NY, so did I. I was talking to a Puerto Rican cop who also grew up in the inner city and a Mexican worker living in a poor neighborhood in Yonkers. We all oppose the changes this administration is implementing. There are many hard working poor. They don’t want handouts or takeovers. They want the opportunity to do well for themselves and their families. They should be voting conservative. In many Latin American countries, it’s pay to play or it’s socialist. If they come to America, it’s because they want more freedom and opportunity. So why do so many vote Democrat when it’s clear they do not represent freedom and opportunity. Folks, we need to do a better job reaching out to them.
Bump!
Reaching out? How much more does a person have to do
other than convey the school of thought?
Yes it is important to get the message out, but this
reach out campaign is nothing more than Liberal speak.
They want us to reach out with something in our hand
as a gift or “REPARATION TOKEN”.
*Embrace
*Celebrate
*Reach out
We’re letting them change the language and speech right
in front of our very eyes... I say Stop it, don’t ape their claims.
Thanks for posting.
I've been a fan of Stephen A. Smith in sports for years.
I didn't know he was so conservative regarding his politics.(Too bad he voted for Obama)
But I “think” a lot of folks voted for one guy and got someone else they didn't figure on.
Semper Fi,
Kelly
Amazing, eh?
Count me as impressed. Any black man who bucks the dogma of the Left is in for a bumpy road, so speaking your mind in his shoes does not come for free. I take off my hat to him.
Micheal Steel should approach this man have him head up a conservative nieghborhood coalition and start beating the streets in all of these cities WITH A MESSAGE!
That said, it is refreshing to hear someone make these kind of remarks. It's interesting to hear him state that he voted for Obama 'based on the historical nature', which is code for 'because of the color of his skin', and then be able to discern that the change that being brought about is un-American.

Surprising and refreshing... I always pegged Smith as a Spike Lee/militant type.
I like and support your idea.
Also, to the OP, thanks for the link. It was a great piece to listen to.
Heard this on Mark’s show, it was great.
