JIM THOMPSON! hehehe! ;)
God Bless you Jim, wish I could have been there to give you and your wife a hug.
The DC police stopped giving crowd size some years back because of all the flak they got, so I don't know why they would give numbers today. I think someone out there is just making this stuff up. Dems, probably.
OBAMA:
DON’T TAX ME, BRO!!!
Oh yes. He flew over in the Marine helicopter to sneak a look.
I have worked up there. No matter what the commies over at CNN say, the crowd was at least 1.5 million people; all well behaved Americans of diverse age, gender and origin.
I was so proud to be a FREEPER; It brought tears to the eyes to see so many condemn what this Presidential pretender is doing to America.
Politicians better carefully assess what they are dealing with. Voters are really angry and it will play out at the 2010 elections.
Are you going to come back on this thread and defend your statement?
Haven’t seen a protest like this since Nam.
EAT YOUR HEARTS OUT CODE PINK!!!!
It was close to 1.5 million according to one of the organizers speaking from the podium today. It was a local ABC outlet that put the numbers at 2 million....not the ABC evening news. The locals know how many people were there. It had to be very close to a million at least!
“Im still trying to get accurate estimates from good sources.”
That’s me. See Post 99.
Trust me. I’ve been to dozens of these things over 30 years. This was a huge crowd, considering that a lot of other things are going on in Washington, compared to an Inauguration, when it’s the only thing going on and it’s a holiday. This crowd ended about Fourth St. The Mall goes to 24th St. On the 4th of July the fireworks fills up most of the Mall with 500,000 to 700,000 people, spaced out somewhat with chairs and blankets.
There were a lot of other Tea Party visitors in town who gave up because they were too far to hear anything, and just went sightseeing after the parade part. But at any one time the visual crowd was about 200,000, plus some more spread out N and S of the lawn because of other prmits west of Fourth St.
***The line of protesters completely filled Pennsylvania Avenue for blocks, all the way to the capitol, according to the D.C. Homeland Security and Emergency Management Agency.***
1.2 million is a very good estimate.
Maceman’s been around since 1998 - what is that ‘sleeper cell’ troll? :)
In any case there are many confirmations of the shot you said was ‘not from today.’ So Maceman, what do you have to say for yourself?
That’s what I heard too..
LMAOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!
They did not close any bridges.
They closed streets around the west side of the Capitol because of the large number of people who were blocking streets - a normal safety measure. Seventh St across the Mall was open to traffic, as were Constitution and Pennsylvania Aves after the crowd marched by.
I’d guess the “other group” had 2-300 hundred, tops.

+++++++++++++++
I see, so you’d put the assembled crowd at 300 to 350K? Or more? Plus many others in town that couldn’t get over there? So 500,000 tea partiers - would you say?
Kind of strange...I haven’t seen any overhead/helicopter shots...I’d really like to see one!
