It would be interesting to find out one day which ones are actually on the payroll and which ones are just volunteers.
A resolution by the U.S. Senate, drafted after being given testimony from legal scholars and approved by members of Congress from both sides of the political aisle, could help sway a judge's decision. It could even help sway a judge's decision not take a case challenging McCain's eligibility.
And, again, that was part of its intended purpose.

Recognizing that John Sidney McCain, III, is a natural born citizen.
Whereas the Constitution of the United States requires that, to be eligible for the Office of the President, a person must be a ‘‘natural born Citizen’’ of the United States;
Whereas the term ‘‘natural born Citizen’’, as that term appears in Article II, Section 1, is not defined in the Constitution of the United States;
Whereas there is no evidence of the intention of the Framers or any Congress to limit the constitutional rights of children born to American citizens serving in the military nor to prevent those children from serving as their country’s President;
Whereas such limitations would be inconsistent with the purpose and intent of the ‘‘natural born Citizen’’ clause of the Constitution of the United States, as evidenced by the First Congress’s own statute defining the term ‘‘natural born Citizen’’;
Whereas the well-being of all citizens of the United States is preserved and enhanced by the men and women who are assigned to serve our country outside of our national borders;
Whereas previous presidential candidates were born outside of the United States of America and were understood to be eligible to be President; and
Whereas John Sidney McCain, III, was born to American citizens on an American military base in the Panama Canal Zone in 1936: Now, therefore, be it
Resolved, That John Sidney McCain, III, is a ‘‘natural born Citizen’’ under Article II, Section 1, of the Constitution of the United States.

We have to admit, this is the first president not born of pure US pedigree. And it stinks like shit.
i am thinking small. it is the GOP state reps in the Oklahoma state HOUSE who can do more than raise the issue. They can have public hearings on “Ballot Access and Eligibility in Federal Elections”. Any private citizen who wants to show up and speak is allowed to do so.
They could keep it going almost non-stop.
There is a “state’s rights” angle on the NBC that you would think Constitutionalists would be interested in.
The GOPers held congress for many of the Bush years. They passaed legislation reforming the process for federal elections.
They did not pass a stutute regarding proving eligibility for federal office. And no GOP governor did either. This is typical. They never can think more than 1 move ahead on the chess board. That is why they are called the stupid party. Hastert. Frist.

Fair enough. What procedure does the Constitution lay out for proving qualifications? The president has to be a natural born citizen. Obama says he is. What does the Constitution say to do next?

There is no September 14th hearing that I'm aware of. That is the deadline laid out in the judge's order for Tatitz and Kreep to submit their response in writing to the defense's motion to dismiss. Once they've done that then the defense has until the 28th to submit their response to the plaintiff's response. Then the motion hearing occurs on the 5th.
