Vladimir Putin did not meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier this week in Moscow, a spokesmen for the Russian prime minister said on Wednesday.
Dimitri Peskov told Radio Moscow that Putin had been "busy that day following his pre-prepared schedule, which did not include a meeting with Netanyahu."
Peskov, however, did not explicitly deny that a visit had taken place.
Earlier Wednesday, a senior Jerusalem official had confirmed that Prime Minister Netanyahu visited Russia on Monday in order to discuss the Kremlin's arms deals with Iran and Syria, and the transfer of Russian military hardware to Hezbollah.
Netanyahu's trip was kept secret and within the prime minister's bureau and only the military affairs secretary, General Meir Kalifi and national security advisor, Uzi Arad were privy to details of the trip. Both men accompanied Netanyahu to Moscow.
No one in the Foreign Ministry was informed of the trip, with the exception of Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman. Defense Minister Ehud Barak was also briefed before the trip, but was ordered not to tell anyone at the Defense Ministry.
The Israeli embassy in Moscow was also not informed of the trip.
The Israeli official said the meeting focused on security issues, and dealt mainly with Russian arms deals to Iran and Syria and Israel reportedly presented the Russian officials with evidence that a great deal of weaponry was making its way into the hands of Hezbollah, posing a serious threat to Israel.
Israel is principally concerned about the sale of anti-aircraft S-300 missiles to Iran. If the missiles were to be positioned outside Iranian nuclear facilities, it would make an Israeli raid very difficult.

Maybe this “secret” meeting has to do with the Russian arms shipment to Iran that went “missing” and then mysteriously reappeared.

The Israeli’s caught the Russians redhanded shipping either advanced missles or nuclear warheads for Iranian missles. The story of the Arctic Sea hijacking is being suppressed by world powers, but Bibi will not stand still while Russia and Iran plan his countries obliteration.
The Russians are sure to claim it was ‘rogue’ elements within the gov’t who sold the Iranians this stuff, and that may be true. Either way, it is a scary thing.

One versions of the report stated that reported that Netanyahu met Monday with senior Russian officials to discuss a new proposed weapons deal with Iran, while a different version claimed that the Prime Minister presented proof that Russian weapons were making their way to Hizbullah.
President Shimon Peres recently visited Russia and spoke to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. Following the meeting, Peres said Medvedev had promised to reconsider the delivery of S-300 air defense missiles to Iran.
Several days later, rumors broke out regarding a Russian ship that was hijacked while en route to Algeria. Media reported that the ship may have been carrying S-300 missiles to Iran, and Russia, one month later, has denied the report.
Obama is no match for Bibi. Israel will do what it’s gotta do.

I cannot fathom the man would personally go to see Putin to tell him to stop that crap or to tell him to go to hell.
There was a matter of mutual importance to be conducted man to man bypassing all the lower officials.
It is of worth to note that the missiles in question were said to be purloined from the government and sold surreptitiously. The transaction would be extremely embarrassing to Putin, the leader. Bibi chose to inform him personally of all he knew about the situation.
IMHO, Bibi was making a friend by discretely, very discretely, exposing Putin’s lack of control.
Hmmm... Nah. It would be curious for Netanyahu to talk to the Russians about this... either he has to offer Russia somethign of substance, or Putin is going to spill the beans to Iran.

Probably just a friendly heads-up that Israel is about to embarrass the Russians and their ‘advanced technology’ once again.
The Syrians never even knew the Israelis were coming until their reactor just went up in smoke. Poof!
I’d guess the Russians know their “technology” is worthless. They are happy to extract some money of the fools in charge of Syria and Iran.
At the same time, Russia is selling Iran sophisticated missle defences?
For Iran.
