Article on Van Jones from March 12, 2009 "From brownshirts to greenshirts" by Michael Savage
The Savage Nation ^

Posted on 09/08/2009 3:29:26 PM PDT by fishtank

Van jones has been appointed by barack obama to be his special adviser on green jobs. He will be obama’s green czar. What most people don’t know, however, is that van jones has a background as a street radical. After growing up in rural tennessee and getting a law degree from the white liberals at yale, van jones began his career of agitation in san francisco. He started a group called police watch, a group which has systematically harassed the police of the san francisco bay area. Using video cameras, protests, lawsuits, etc, van jones fought to prevent the police from protecting us against the scum of society. He had policemen fired, he’s ruined lives, and he’s made us all more vulnerable to street gangs. But in the last few years, it seems, van jones has moved on to a different con game – the environment. He started something called the green collar jobs campaign, which tries, as he claims, to “create green pathways out of poverty.” In other words, conning people about global warming has become more profitable than harrassing the police. And now barack obama has brought him on as part of the team. His background dovetails perfectly with obama’s plans. You’ve heard obama before talking about starting a “civilian national security force” separate from the military. But i’ve told you before that obama is getting ready to organize an army of greenshirts. And given van jones’ background in street agitation, he seems like the perfect person to do it.

Ping.

Sorry for the formatting - not my fault.

Savage likes to “all cap” his articles, and I was able to “Sentence Case” it in MS Word.

The title is short and sweet but says it all. Van Jones et al are rallying every malcontent group in the country and getting the kids from the inner cities to become “green” aka commies.

This just reinforces the real problem with Savage. Had he not been so off-putting and full of himself he might have had the audience for this to gain traction.

“greenshirts” fits well. Who can be against the environment? Only eeeeevil conservatives, of course.

Kudos to Dr. Savage for bringing this to the attention of the citizens.

Some here at FR have been using “green shirts” since a month previous to the article.

Savage a lurker or does he have a screen name, or is it just coincidental?

Don’t know - and I personally don’t care. We need all the dogs we can get in this fight.

Savage is usually way out ahead of the curve. He can annoy me sometimes — mostly his rudeness (like talking over people and attacking all other talk show hosts) and hs stream-of-consciousness deliveray (he must have been ADHD as a kid!), but he is brilliant, educational and most importantly, he is right.

He won me over with 2 rape cases. He called out the “Durham Dirtbag” immediately. I thought he was an idiot for not waiting to hear more about the case. But his instincts were right, and he was ultimately proved right.

He was right that Kobe Bryant was also falsely accused of rape.

He sold me. Then there was the Dubai ports deal.

He is too rude for me, but he is a native New Yorker, and I understand the culture there is direct. What I think of as rude may just be direct. I experienced some of that on a trip to Manhattan. They were just blunt.

But Savage is right and he is way out in front on many issues. I just appreciate Glenn Becks type of style so much more. I find him much more educational because Beck is thorough and collegiate in his arguments, builds on them and informs.

There is very low likelihood Savage would lurk here, IMHO. I don’t think it is his style. He reads, watches news. I just don’t think he has the patience to wade through all the information here to get to the stories he wants to get. His mind is lightning quick, and I really don’t think he has the patience to spend any time here.

He also has other resources. He is a quick study and picks things up very fast. I would be SHOCKED if he lurks here.

His show website has posted excerpts from Freeper posts in the past.

Whether he is here personally or not, I agree with you: it’s unlikely.
