Most of the major news outlets, like The New York Times and The Washington Post, ignored the swelling heat surrounding former White House environmental adviser Van Jones and the videos surfacing of his controversial statements.
CBS News became the first of the three broadcast networks on Friday to note the controversy, but ABC's "World News" and "NBC Nightly News" again failed to report the story. After Jones' midnight resignation over the weekend, all three networks aired the story on their Sunday evening newscasts. The Washington Post offered its first story on Saturday yet The New York Times' print edition didn't publish its first story until Monday -- a story that appeared on the front page, under the fold.
Democratic strategist Julian Epstein defended the media, saying they strive to provide balanced reporting and that their "passing coverage" was similar to their reports on the controversy surrounding Sen. John McCain's religious adviser last year during his presidential bid.
"I think some of the media is guilty of not covering things that are occurring on the right," he told FOX News. "Other parts of the media are guilty of not covering things adequately that are occurring on the left. I think every news organization has to strive to be balanced on this."

Van Jones: On the 9/11 Attacks, Not Just a Truther, a Deserver (AmeriKKKa "deserved" attack!)

That's because on Saturday evening, Scott Johnson at Powerline presented proof that roughly 40 hours after the 9/11 terrorist attacks occurred, avowed Communist Jones publicly declared that the U.S. deserved what happened.
Being the incompitance of the State Run Media, let me offer a link for the above post, copy/paste may be above their pay grade;

I think Palin could do a great job on her Facebook in bringing up the dangerous games the media is playing and point to the Van Jones story. This is another example of the radicals that make up the administration and the media needs to be questioned because they are not all powerful and above questioning themselves. We need people with a microphone to finally hold the media to account.

“The bombs the government drops in Iraq are the bombs that blew up in New York City,” said Van Jones, director of the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, who also warned against forthcoming violence by the Bush Administration. “The US cannot bomb its way out of this one. Safety at home requires justice abroad.”

Reading terrorist abroad their Miranda rights fall in line with Jone’s thinking
The big story here, that the media is failing to cover, is not what Van Jones actually said — though that’s big enough and deserves coverage all its own.
The big story is the CLAIM that the only critics Van Jones has are a few FoxNews-driven right-wing crackpots who are spreading lies and misinformation and DESPITE THAT the President of the Unites States, Barak Obama, went ahead and caved on this issue anyway, and let the tiny minority of crackpots determine his selection of advisors.
How is that not a big story? Why did the President of the United States cave to a few “liars” IN A MATTER OF DAYS and turn tail and run?
Why, oh wise watchdog of the government and guardian of the People’s Right To Know?
Why?
Well because they, the msm ignored the Van Jones story, it was picked up by the alternate news media folks.

Their days are not numbered. Chairman Obama is going to funnel them billions of taxpayer dollars to reward their support.
Thank the alternate news media friends.:)
The power of the alternate news media.
I cannot imagine being one of the fools who only watches the evening news and reads the big daily newspaper. I can’t imagine seeing a story on Page-8 about a “weeks long” scandal causing a top government official to quit without ever hearing about the scandal before.
I think something would have alarm bells in my head. Then again, I am not a DUmmie.
Yeah, but who really watches any of them?
Keep dreaming!
I especially love my headline for the Teddy Funeral
This has always been and will always be the problem with Big Media. They’ve always only reported half the story. Once again if we did a name recognition test on Jones with average Americans, I’d bet only a very small percentage either know who he is and what he did. Naturally if this was a Republican admin, and he had been a Republican and a birther, the news of his hiring would have been blared for weeks by Big Media. It’s all politics.
I’ll bet CNN and MSNBC has time clocks up until they’re false messiah speaks.
Is that tonight?
I agree. I was at Labor Day party this weekend, and the Van Jones topic came up in conversation. Most people knew about the story, even the folks I wouldn't consider political seemed pretty informed.
I agree with you. I can’t imagine EVER watching any of these POS “news” sources... and yet there are “adults” who ONLY get their news from these “sources”.
