Demand Congress CUT OFF Czar Funding- Anti-Czar Bill
American Thinker ^ | August 2, 2009 | Thomas Lifson

H.R. 3226, the Czar ACCOUNTABILITY and Reform Act of 2009, would bar the use of appropriated funds to pay either expenses or salaries of members of task forces, councils, or similar offices established by the president and headed by a person appointed inappropriately to such a post without Senate advice and consent.

TOPICS: Government; News/Current Events; Politics/Elections
KEYWORDS: bill; congress; constitution; czar; hr3226; jackkingstan; kingston; robertbyrd; stimulus; vanjones
The bill is sponsored by Rep. Jack Kingston, R-Ga. And co-sponsored by Rep. John Boozman, R-Ark. To his everlasting credit, Democrat Senator Robert Byrd, who, for all his faults is a keen student of history, has also been raising objections to the Czar madness that has gripped the Democrats and their media lapdogs. If a Republican president had tried to grab unaccountable power in this manner, there would be a firestorm. It isn't getting a lot of media attention and with the Democrats' majorities in the House and Senate, it is probably doomed, but for the sake of the memory of our Constitution, somebody had to do it. I’ve wondered about that too. There are over 30 czars now. I’ve wondered where the money comes from to pay them and their staff and their travel expenses and related office expenses. Since the Bush White House didn’t have czars, all of these are newly created positions, with no money having been spent in these areas before.

And remember, each czar has to have a secretary and office staff of his own, his own office in rented office space somewhere, office supplies, travel expense budget, seminar budget...................

Just one more reason to get out the vote and turn control of the House over to the GOP (not that I have any grand expectations if they take it back - but I would expect them to function as a form of checks and balances to the Socialist in the White House).

Even if this bill passes, King Obama is so powerful he will ignore it. We have a communists/dictator as President and nothing will stop this machine until if almost finishes America off.

Everyone of these “czars” should be trotted out in front of congress and the American people and properly vetted. We need a clear description of what they are up to, who pays them and we demand accountability and oversight. I nominate Glen Beck as chief interrogator.
