No.10 turns on Obama and Clinton for criticising decision to release Lockerbie bomber

President Obama and the US Secretary of State fuelled a fierce American backlash against Britain, claiming Abdelbaset Al Megrahi should have been forced to serve out his jail sentence in Scotland but a senior Whitehall aide said their reaction was disingenuous.
British officials claim Mr Obama and Mrs Clinton were kept informed at all stages of discussions concerning Megrahis return.
The officials say the Americans spoke out because they were taken aback by the row over Megrahis release, not because they did not know it was about to happen.
The US was kept fully in touch about everything that was going on with regard to Britains discussions with Libya in recent years and about Megrahi, said the Whitehall aide.
We would never do anything about Lockerbie without discussing it with the US. It is disingenuous of them to act as though Megrahis return was out of the blue.

We knew all along that Bambi and his minions knew about this, and in fact were probably instrumental in bringing it about. I’m glad Downing Street is not taking the fall for him.

But our allies may get involved on the RIGHT SIDE to oust Barry and his regime.
To: Stars&StripesNE
My point exactly and the very reason Obama and his thugs wouldn’t want them involved. Make the Brits angry with all Americans and there is less chance they’ll pick a side.

I suspect that Hillery was given her position just to shut her up and keep Ol Bill under control. Smart move I guess.

To 0bambi's administration claiming no knowledge, of the (actual? timing of the?) release, No. 10 says, "They're being 'disingenuous'," as the Americans (certainly Zero and Mrs. Kurintong) were kept in the communications loop throughout a longer process.
But No. 10 doesn't go to "liar" from "disingenuous" as the truth could conceivably justify, but says only they were "said to have been disappointed by the force of Washingtons response". To fit the facts put in public evidence thus far, the following is conceivable:
(Years-standing agreement to let the hijackers rot to the end of their lives in prison.)
UK->USA Megrahi's terminally ill and we're thinking of letting him go to visit his family in the last few months of his life.
USA->UK Did you forget about the rotting-in-jail thingie? We think what you're contemplating would be a mistake.
UK->USA Your comments are duly noted.
(UK/Scots release of Megrahi, press release to everybody simultaneously)
USA: We're deeply disappointed in the UK/Scottish decision.
UK: "Their reaction was disingenuous" and "we're surprised by the force of their response," given how we keep them in the loop.
There are perhaps more pertinent facts not in evidence, but I think if the UK/Scots were entirely in the right they'd be coming up with a stronger case.

I have to agree 100%. We can have someone else than the long legged mac daddy in the WH and if he is a liberal the media will kiss his a$$ too. IT IS THE MEDIA that has put this guy in office (along with Soros dollars).

Interesting headline they had there - a more accurate description would be that No.10 is merely confirming what everyone already suspected or even knew outright. Would love for them to ante up further documentation.
Has the makings of yet another albatross to go around Obummer's neck. He and his ilk are getting smacked with the reality that this ain't Chicago and the world is not a ghetto filled with feckless inhabitants to intimidate or manipulate as they were used to doing back home. Welcome to the big leagues, losers, where there are no friends, just common interests (sometimes).

This administration was LYING to the American People and the rest of the world by pretending that they knew nothing about this.
Surprise, Barry lied and America died.

While this whole ugly thing is a truly ugly piece of politicians at work, it's interesting to see how Gaddafi set the trap for the idiot politicians in the UK and DC and has been using his son to slowly release leaks revealing their true deceptions and lies.
Gaddafi must be sitting back laughing at Gordon Brown and Obama twisting in the wind as he releases more and more truth about the sordid plan.

This is no surprise. I think we all knew at some level that the administration knew all about the situation and either formally or tacitly approved of the deal.

Why would the Brits want to release him even if Obama agreed Apparently they got an oil deal.
The more significant thing is that the pacifists think that the killing of hundreds by a murderer apparently is no big deal.
And apparently Ozero and/or Hitlery agreed. My how the terrorists must be cheering their heros at 10 Downing and 1600 Pennsylvania today.
