Tar-sands oil standoff brews in Minnesota

The fight over global warming and Canadian oil is heating up, and Minnesota, which gets 80 percent of its oil from Canada, is sitting on the griddle.

A group of oil companies and big industries launched a TV and radio ad campaign this week to try to snuff out rules that might raise the cost of piping Canadian tar-sands oil through the Dakotas to refineries in the Twin Cities.

Meanwhile, environmentalists on Thursday appealed a federal decision that allows construction of another major pipeline across northern Minnesota to bring in even more tar-sands oil from Alberta.

Are Americans insane or suicidal? Canada is your most secure supplier of foreign oil and we supply a lot of it. Your future growth is dependent on cheap energy. If you don’t want it, they will build a pipeline over the Rockies and ship it to the damn Chicoms. How does that help the environment?????

Oil means lower cost energy which means manufacturing jobs. High energy costs KILL manufacturing jobs. Let them freeze to death in Little Somalia.

If the watermelons in Minnesota hate (evil) oil, shut them out of the supply and let them stay warm this winter with 0 speeches and solar panels.

Photobucket Minnesotans can always appeal to their highly-esteemed newest senator for relief. (AFAIK he is not lower than my Sen. Patsy Murray on the IQ scale.)

Americans are neither suicidal nor insane. Our current elected government is, however. I’d like nothing more than to tell the damned envirowhackos and the libtards in Washington where they can stuff the environment!

Then the people who voted for Obama must be leaning towards idiocy.

People ask me why I care about US politics or what happens in the US. It is real simple. Canada is a great nation and a great place to live. We are free. We have free elections. We are prosperous. A lot of this is a result of sharing the neighborhood with your great free republic. What happens to us if you lose your freedom? What happens to us if you go down the path Obama is leading you?

The oil pipeline is under construction in South Dakota and Hyperion Oil is on track to build the first new oil refinery in 30 years near Elk Point, SD. While the environmentalist wackos has tried to block both projects, people in South Dakota don’t give much credence to their BS.

Obamy Whamy.

He and his Czars are about to get a bend over and take it from the State of Minnesota. Franken? He's just a noise making gadfly, and Minnesotans will wish they had never voted for him.

Buahahahahahah.

You’ve nailed it exactly. The people who voted for Obama bought his hokum, for whatever deranged reason they chose. He is a creation of the far Left, wholly owned by George Soros and his ilk, and has all the depth & sincerity of a sheet of paper. Left to his own devices, he’d never have achieved the incredible position of President of the United States. His resume wouldn’t support it.
He’s been groomed for a mission, and that mission is to destroy American capitalism and individual liberty, using the apparatus of the US Government to do it.
However, people are beginning to wake up to the fact that this man is haughty, arrogant, condescending, cold, confrontational, imperious and lacks a clue, let alone a plan. In his mind, Americans exist to serve him, not the other way ‘round.
He wants to be emperor, not President.
Only time will tell if those of us who oppose him have the
clout to stop him.
I hope so, because I shudder to think what the future may bring if we don’t.
