Besieged by leaks of several closely held secrets, the CIA has asked the Justice Department to examine what it regards as the criminal disclosure of a secret program to kill foreign terrorist leaders abroad, The Washington Times has learned.
Two U.S. intelligence officials, who spoke on the condition that they not be named because of the sensitivity of the case, said the leak investigation involved a program that CIA Director Leon E. Panetta told Congress about in June and that surfaced in news reports just a month later.
The vice chairman of the the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence declined to discuss any possible leak investigations but told the Times on Thursday that a growing number of disclosures of highly secret programs, tactics and other information had caused "irreparable damage" to the U.S. intelligence community.
"They foil our attempts to carry out classified missions," Sen. Christopher S. Bond said in an interview. "They tell our intelligence community: We don't have your back; we're stabbing you in the back. Our allies ask us, 'How can we trust you to deal in classified matters in private, when the details are leaked to the press?'"

There has been a twisted sense of morality in disclosure for decades. Disclosing operational plans to the U.N. during the Korean War, Senator Kennedy disclosing secrets to the Soviets, etc. Why is anyone surprised that anything the CIA discloses to Congress is almost immediately leaked? If not the elected vermin themselves, it's their rotten staffers dribbling everywhere.
You’re right but not surprised at all, just darn tired of it. If a few were made examples of it might send a message to others. If the others don’t get the message we’d have at least got rid of a few that have hurt us.

I think that the straw that broke the camel’s back came on Sept 11, 2001. But I certainly agree that this is a grave matter. In the late 90’s the NYT reported that the CIA was listening to Osama’s cell phone conversations, which immediately ceased. It seems to me that this may well have enabled the success of Al Qaeda’s Sept 11 attack.
The cavalier attitude of our political class toward those who put their lives at risk for our security has been out of hand for a long time. Leahy himself divulged plans for an operation in Nicaragua in the 80’s. Then there were the leaks of the NSA’s recording of suspect foreign phone calls.
Members of Congress and their staffers have been leaking to the press just for the fun of it since the Vietnam War. Intelligence agencies must be able to operate the way they did during World War II and the early decades of the Cold War.

And that just about says it all. It can be applied to Obama on so many different levels but the biggie is the basic dishonesty of claiming health care reform would be just perfect - more people covered, better quality, keep your doctor, cost will go down. The independents that have deserted him are not coming back.

because he is racist, not just, ... and falsely accuse them.
That is neither an investigation nor JUSTICE.
I’m hoping the CIA will carry out its own justice, if the DOJ deliberately botches things.
