Germany had a Chancellor from 1933-1945 that did the same thing.

I pledge to flush my toilets even when they have not been used.
I pledge to use as many plastic bags as possible when self-bagging my groceries.
I pledge to turn on every single light in my house.
I pledge to buy bottled water even more often than I have in the past.
I pledge to buy biggest, gas-guzzler I can afford.
I pledge to water my grass every day...even if we’ve just had the biggest rainstorm in a century.
I pledge to create as much co2 as humanly possible.
Oh, and I pledge to never purchase a ticket to a movie that includes any of the rich anti-American idiots in that piece of propaganda.

Just called Nikon to tell them I had decided not to purchase a Nikon camera because of the political comments of their corporate spokesperson, ashton kutchner.

I really, truly was going to buy a Nikon....but not now.

I think Diaz thinks, because she is a “star”, that she can move mountains, part the seas, ask the rain to fall on CA fires and she will never die...hubris, to say the least!

Actually, it is smooth political move. Obambi and crew know that the future to pure communism is through the youth, as most totalitarians realize.

The NEA has been indoctrinating our young for some decades. BTW, wasn't Bush going to abolish the Dept. of Education?

Yeah, a shot on Bush, but he deserves it, because now we have a true totalitarian communist in the Oval Office who will use that Cabinet post to further his Marxist ideals. If Bush had kept to his word, Obambi would have a much more difficult time on the education/indoctrination front.

End the ONE party system! The Republicans had their chance and what did we get? More spending; higher deficits; the biggest welfare program (drugs) since LBJ. Yes, they did some good things, but not enough for having the power they had to end or minimize years of Liberal policies. Many cabinet posts were supposed to be eliminated. It was within the power of the Oval Office to so. Didn't happen.

Think Constitution Party! Or build any other strict Constitutionalist party you want to name. How about the: Reformation Party? Or Our Forefathers Party? Or???

Just realize, even if the Republicans take over the House in 2010, can you trust them not to "reach across the isle" as they always do, and screwed by doing same? How many times are you going get back-handed by your own political party?

TERM LIMITS! Yes, it will take a Constitutional Amendment for Term Limits, but it can be done without a Constitutional Convention, which we never want to happen. It will take 2/3rds of both Houses in Congress, and if passed, 3/4ths States to ratify. The President will have NO say.

Yeah, I know, I'm dreaming, but we have got to find a solution to get these career politicians out of DC. The Founding Fathers never meant politics to be a career. Do your duty and go back to your farm or factory or whatever other livelihood.

yes, yes, yes, and yes.

“The NEA has been indoctrinating our young for some decades.”
VAST system of indoctrination

BTW, wasn’t Bush going to abolish the Dept. of Education?”
somebody needs to revisit that idea.

“Republicans had their chance and what did we get?”
Their current silence about the arcing purpose and structure of Obama’s intentions is breathtaking & re-enforces the opinion that they do not deserve the support of their constituents.

Apparently we don’t have their attention yet.

Constitution - not hearing that word enough (or it’s corollary: UN-Constitutional); it ought to be the drumbeat in every utterance of opposition.

You have to watch the very end, when they
say,

“I pledge to be a servant to our president,
and all mankind.”

Wow. Imagine: “I pledge to be a servant
to George W Bush.” What a double standard.
Anyway ,we conservatives wouldn’t want anyone
to pledge servant-hood to any human being.

Also, the “servant to all mankind” is
identical to “brother-love” in Atlas Shrugged.

Where is it being shown as noble to build
a business, a career and take good care of
yourself and your family....

Mind control chickens are coming home to roost.

Unless we can turn this around culturally,
we are in deep dung.

I’m late to your post...don’t know if anyone answered your question or not...it was Ronald Reagan who wanted to abolish the department of education, but that never happened not even under Reagan.

It’s not like George W Bush wanted to abolish it then failed to do so. He used the Dept to implement no child left behind under two appointed education secretaries who were both from Texas and had worked on education reform there.

Not defending it, just laying out the historical record.
