I’m keeping my kids home. They know how I feel about this and they want no part of it!

It would be funny if there were a hundred kids outside the school picketing the event.

This commie bast*rd has no right addressing our kids without parents present! I think everyone should keep their kids home and spare them the propoganda event.

I'm torn about this. On one hand I have no problem with keeping the younguns home, on the other I have a teen who is chomping at the bit to wear her own designed T-shirt and to openly mock the Won while he's giving his lil' talk to the mushminds at school. She's ticked about all this. Our high school is fairly conservative, but I dunno what they will do on that day, yet.
I guess the question is- do I feel like driving all the way into town on that day because my kid's in the principals' office?
Here's her shirt, came up with it all on her own!

From the 7-12 post-speech curriculum:
Suppose President Obama were to give another speech about being educationally successful. Who could he speak to next? Who should be his next audience? Why? What would he say?
So, are our kids supposed to strategize for this loser?
One of my children is privately educated, but the other (early teenager and my equal in matters conservative) is completely unafraid to stand up for his beliefs wherever he is. All I know is that I'm getting angrier by the minute.

If my kids have to participate, I'll have one of these ready for them when they get home.

Some parents view the president's move as over-reaching and suspect that propaganda will be forced on a young, impressionable, captive audience. So Obi Wan Nairobi got tired talking with the adults. He wants to try and pressure the children to pressure the parents.
This is a page out of the play book of Banana Republic dictator like Haiti's Aristide.

What bothers me the most about this is the cult of personality aspect. I read the script yesterday. He isn’t asking kids what they can do for their country, he is asking them “what they can do for their President.” This is nothing to do with education, or patriotism, and everything to do with creating an Obama cult of personality to engender loyalty, not to America, but to Dear Leader. In other words, this is targeting kids with pro-Obama propaganda, nothing else. If I had school-age kids, I’d keep them home.

There ought to be a massive IN SCHOOL prayer session for students who wish NOT to attend the president’s little indoctrination session- let’s see how that goes over
