This happened because he had two assassinated brothers.
His family paid for part of it I am sure but the tax payers paid the bulk of the costs.

And why was this looser given such a send off Because he was one of the 18 remaining people on the planet who know the difference between "looser" and "loser".
And I'm sure the taxpayers paid for the whole thing.

If a few miracles can be attributed to “St. Teddy” to the satisfaction of the Vatican, he might end up canonized. Would he be the patron saint of national health care?

It is a disgrace that he was buried at Arlington National. This is hallowed ground, not for a traitor and murderer who worked constantly worked against the military.
To: Rumplemeyer
Whoever paid for it wasted alot of money.

Would he be the patron saint of national health care? If it is left up to "the children", he would be.
I'm expecting a run on elementery schools naming themselves after Dead Red Ted. "The children" will be "demanding" it.

Look at the scope of what it entailed. Many of the items were gov’t expenses: former presidents, police, planes, military, Arlington, traffic control, etc.

I just love how we are told the Kennedys are a 'moral authority' on anything (including health care)! The media still thinks there is a Camelot. In my opinion, the entire Kennedy clan is nothing but rich elitists BUMS. Has any one of them ever had a real job?!
Thirty, forty and fifty years in congress is too damn long! I don't care what party you are in!

I only watched a few minutes a day of the Kennedy fever.
thank goodness for Little League.
what I thought of each day is that this coverage is so phony. Will they give like coverage to any other senator?? - Lieberman, McCain, Hatch, Reid, Byrd, et al. Of course, the answer is “no!” So why Kennedy, the most flawed of all?

That's okay. It is more convenient than Boston for one day digging it up and throwing it into the Potomac.
