Kennedy to be buried at Arlington - What a Travesty!

Just heard on noon news that Kennedy will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery. What an insult to our troops!

Well, he’s supposed to be buried in the vicinity of his brothers, priceless real estate that would otherwise be wasted, so probably better to bury him there. but IIRC he was most certainly a veteran (PFC, Army MP according to biographical sources), although family connections kept him out of the Korean War (obviously he was too young to be in World War II unlike his brothers John and Joe Jr.).

Given his politics, it may be a bitter pill to swallow, but honors given to those who served should be apolitical.

More correctly stated, priceless real estate is WASTED on Teddy Kennedy.

Well in the real world, poitics play a large role in the military. Kennedy, wanted to pull out of Iraq and even claimed we lost the war. I dare say, he’s no patriot. Ted Kennedy would have been delighted if we had withdrawn in shame. Also recall, Kennedy was quite vocal in NOT funding our troops In Iraq.

No, Kennedy swuandered his right to be burried with honor. Kennedy is not an honorable man.

Nobody's minimizing the fact that there are privates in the army, except you. I really get sick of posters like yourself who attempt to read something into what someone else posts. Obviously, I was referring to the fact that the next "once and future king" did not rise high in the army in spite of all his advantages.

I think you knew what I meant, but you chose to be a jerk and allege that I was somehow slighting the privates in all armed forces. If that was all you had to say, you might as well have not posted anything at all.
