The death of Sen. Edward Kennedy quickly became a rallying cry for Congress to pass health care overhaul legislation.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi

All predictable. Anyone who didn’t see this coming is a fool.
We should enjoy this slow-motion libdem train wreck. It reminds me of how the dems suffered a decisive setback when they politicized paul wellstone’s memorial in Minnesota.
Yes - America!! Let's all step up & make Ted Kennedy's dream come true!!!
Never mind about the young & old will die if this Obamination passes..
Ted Kennedy will be looking up (not down) from his place in eternity - satisfied that his dream is fulfilled. Nothing else matters...just fulfilling his dream!
Breaking on FNC. The Orca to buried in Arlington. What an affront to TRUE heroes.
Somehow I got on the DCCC e-mail list. This is what Chris Hollins wrote today.
With the passing of Senator Ted Kennedy, a family lost its patriarch, the U.S. Senate lost its most gifted legislator, and America lost an unparalleled leader.
Senator Ted Kennedy was elected in Massachusetts, but to millions of Americans he was our Senator. A tenacious fighter for working men and women who share the belief that America is the greatest country in the world. His passion and purpose were dedicated to righting wrongs and ensuring that our better days are ahead.
Senator Kennedy said that ‘health care is the fight of his life.’ Today, we pick up the torch and recommit ourselves to health insurance reform.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Senator Kennedy’s wife, children - including our friend and colleague Patrick, his family, his friends, and his constituents.
Sincerely,
Rep. Chris Van Hollen
DCCC Chairman
Nice idea for a bumper sticker. Tacky, but I like it.
So, let me get this straight...- a man who, due to personal wealth that he never worked a day to earn, was able to go to the best doctors in the world to treat his terminal cancer, the type of care that would never be covered by a government run health care plan, dies...
- and THAT is the reason to shove through a piece of legislation that wouldnt provide the same care to people who work for a living, and would probably deny treatment due to the terminal nature of said cancer, under which the very Members of Congress would not apply.
If they thought it would help get ObamaCare passed, they'd taxidermy ol' Teddy and then put his stuffed corpse in his Senate seat. The Democrats are without honor.
if ted kennedy had the healthcaare bill they want to stick us with,he would’ve died long ago.
Thats the reality of his death. He lived longer because he was not under obamacare.
the appropriate new name of the bill should be,
The Ted Kennedy survived several extra months because he had his own doctors bill”
Whoa, another good one! (Please see post #100)
My Lord, are they that predictable! Good grief. Pass this bill you SOBs with your hat in hand because you can kiss your “political career” good-bye. I call it your career because you have made a career off the backs of Americans and used us as your cash cow and never considered your posistion a higher calling to serve.
Thanks for the ping!
I wouldn't be suprized if Ted took an overdose in order to keep the bill alive long enough for his seat to be re democratized in a by election.
He is not worthy!
Excellent post, Phil! (#107)
They came pretty close to doing that by pretending he released that statement about his successor last week.
And it may not work very well. Remember how they turned Wellstone's funeral into a political rally, but Coleman won the Minn. senate seat anyway?
In other words, we should all die via DeathCare as a tribute to the guilty swimmer like the Jim Jones cult? Oh, I forgot, they had guns pointed at their heads.
I choose no; not just no, but HELL NO. The Fascists in this Administration and the US Congress can go pound SAND.
Damn. Teddy’s body isn’t even cold yet, and Pelosi is already cynically exploiting him.
I wondered about that. At the JFK/RFK gravesite, I would assume.
