Whatever. Expect another epic FAIL.

"...but right now they just don't have the distribution mechanisms set up."

Gee. I know LOTS of local farmers. They'd LOVE to have a gig growing food for a local school. But guess who stands in the way?

Yep. GOVERNMENT!

Just wait until the first time a local farmer is sued because some kid was allergic or the produce wasn’t washed enough.

What ??? Does Obama think this is a way he can pay down the deficit ???

Why not open a lemonade stand while he’s at it ???

Uhhhh - better make that Kool-Aid stand ...

BTW -

I read recently that there was something wrong with that garden at the WH ...

Something to do with sludge being used as fertilizer in the garden the Clintons had there in the same spot as Obama ...

Green acres is the place for me.
Farm livin’ is the life for me.
Land spreadin’ out so far and wide
Keep Manhattan, just give me that countryside.

New York is where I’d rather stay.
I get allergic smelling hay.
I just adore a penthouse view.
Dah-ling I love you but give me Park Avenue.

...The chores.
...The stores.
...Fresh air.
...Times Square

You are my wife.
Good bye, city life.
Green Acres we are there.

How about a herd of Wagyu cattle grazing on the White House lawn? The Obamas would have steady supply for their weekly cocktail parties, and they could sell the surplus at the farmers' market for us peons to enjoy (assuming we could afford it).

They’ll make $44.00 and this will cost the taxpayers $1.2 Million dollars.

Whatever. They aren’t going to set up anything just outside the White House.

It will never pass muster with Secret Service, DOD or the D.C. Police.

But, boy don’t they just love to talk?

"Not long ago, the first lady planted the first seeds for the White House's own organic garden."

And the food produced ended up with higher than normal levels of lead. This new project will be another disaster no doubt. These people work wonders, and $hit blunders.

I'd like to ask the President how he proposes to help the parents afford to make healthier food choices. Tax reductions? Good food isn't cheap...even at the farmer's market. Assuming a parent has easy access to the grocery store (transportation) they've got to decide whether they want to spend $4 on healthy grapes that will last in the fridge only a few days or 2 boxes of Cheezits that are on sale for 2/$4 that will feed their kids for twice as long.

The more money the parents have, the easier it will be to make those healthy food choices!

Now the Obamas want to expand the idea to set up a farmers market just outside the White House.

It's possible this may be illegal if he signs off on the Food Safety Enhancement Act of 2009.

Now the Obamas want to expand the idea to set up a farmers market just outside the White House. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

All that will accomplish is attract rats and mice to the location. Thats what happened when the had a farmers market at our local school. It became invested with mice that ate the market leavings. When the weather got cold, the rodents moved inside.

And since the white house already is full of RATS, would it be wise to attract even more?
