I wonder if he really meant to say “all keyed up” but got the ‘k’ mixed up with a ‘w’. In other words, when he said “wee” he caught himself and realized that wasn’t right but he couldn’t immediately recall the correct letter, but had to keep going, and so he just plowed ahead with “weyed” instead of keyed.
