The Sacramento Police Department says that Christopher Guzman went to Garcia Bend Park on Monday night, believing that he was meeting up with a 14-year-old girl he had met on a social networking website.
"This would've been the first physical contact between the suspect and the victim," said Sacramento Police Department Sgt. Norm Leong.
As Guzman waited in his car, police say five or six of the girl's family members walked up and began attacking him and his vehicle. Guzman tried to drive away, but the family members chased him, forced him out of his car and held him for police, who arrested Guzman but did not detain the relatives.
"[Guzman] was bloody from that," Sgt. Leong said. "We'll review it and see if what they did was reasonable given the circumstances in that they were trying to detain him."
Police said that Guzman was planning to videotape the young girl in a sex act.

“this is a good approach to resolving societys problems”.
...it’s how they did it in the old west. Seemed to work pretty well then.
What the family members did wasn’t wrong.
Re-read that one after recalibrating your sarcasm detector.
What do you mean “what the family did was wrong”? Are you suggesting that the male relatives of a minor female have no authority to protect her?
Now I just want to see Dateline NBC beat the crap out of some pervs.
*my default response for the day
Give the nature of the current court system, the judge might require that defense NOT mention, under any circumstances, what the perv, er, “victim” was doing there and what provoked the fam, er, attackers.
... Men are not hanged for stealing horses, but that horses may not be stolen. ...
Yep. Then you knew Chuck was going to do what neded to be done.
IIRC though, in real life, Bronson was a big anti-gunner.
They need to be castrated. Then if they offend again, hung. Enough of this locking up at a cost of over $125,000.00 a year BS.
Perhaps if they brought back real hard labor where they paid for their own keep by doing work for the state ( and saving taxpayers money in the process) growing their own food etc. Then I'd say fine, lock them up.
prisons wouldn't be very crowded and Muslim recruiting zones if they made criminals actually pay for there crimes by doing hard labor. They wouldn't have much energy left to riot either, or watch tv, commit crimes from within the prison via telephones and computer access.
Also that last Rambo movie was awesome. I hope Sly has a vision that honors the urban western theme of the original Death Wish. There was a movie called “Death Sentence” a couple years ago based on another book by the author who wrote the original Death Wish novel (he wasn’t happy with the film version and felt it glorified vigilantism). It starred Kevin Bacon as a guy who goes after the gang that murdered his son and ultimately ends up as depraved as his enemies. I think the silliest Hollywood convention in that movie and all the Death Wishes is the interracial groups of criminals doing the evil deeds. Last I checked gangs tend to be pretty homogenous, but I guess the film makers always felt they need to be politically correct with that aspect since the rest was not.
If it was sarcasm, it should have a /sarc “tag.” The way it came across to me in reading it was that Joe expected the prosecutor to “accidentally” lose the file but was acknowledging that the family was wrong.
I disagreed.
So in the short run, attorney's have an easier time winning a case - and in the long run the people are losing faith in their legal system to protect them. And it's happening with me too.
Pedophiles are now a protected dem victim group. And we hear about their "civil rights". The press picks up the sh-t put out by dems. And that's a new part of it. Have you heard the press worried about the civil rights of citizens who didn't agree with health care? Nope - turn them in to "flag" at the White House enemies list...
But pedophiles? The press is concerned about their rights? Yest they are.
So was it lawful to beat this guy up? NO. And I'm I happy it happened? Kind of. And that makes me sad.
Been there, been restrained by hubby and police... what this family did is the ONLY way to deal with this type of scum. You need to nip it in the bud, or risk daughter planning to run away to meet creep. I just wish he had needed to be hospitalized... and no, I don’t expect you to understand unless it is your daughter.

Here in Oklahoma our legislators are proposing the death penalty for sex offenders. That'll sure "cure" them.
Not to nitpick or defend creeps like this guy, but pedophiles are attracted to pre-pubescent girls, which this girl probably was not. He’s more in the category of garden variety exploitative sleaze bag.
Lets not forget it takes two to tango.
This girl wasn't innocent in this either. In better days past, she wouldn't have dared meet someone in a park thinking they were going to get it on and make porn together.
It isn't even clear if this perv decieved her in any way. She may have known he was much older. All that IS clear is that the family found out about it and went to meet him instead of her.
Then if they offend again, hung. You took care of the hung with the castration. After, they need to be hanged.
