In what is shaping up to be one of the more effective boycott campaigns in years, advertisers are abandoning the "Glenn Beck" show on Fox News following the host's incendiary comments that President Barack Obama is a "racist" and has a "deep-seated hatred for white people."
Among the advertisers to pull spots from the popular cable talk show are Geico, owned by Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway /quotes/comstock/13*!brk.a (BRK .A 99,275, +275.00, +0.28%) /quotes/comstock/13*!brk.b (BRK .B 3,235, +5.20, +0.16%) ; Procter & Gamble /quotes/comstock/13*!pg/quotes/nls/pg (PG 52.49, +0.28, +0.54%) ; Sargento Cheese; and Progressive Insurance /quotes/comstock/13*!pgr/quotes/nls/pgr (PGR 16.01, -0.08, -0.50%) , according to the companies and Color of Change, one group that is organizing a campaign against the program....
Adding fuel to the fire is Donny Deutsch, a TV personality and head of the ad agency Deutsch Inc., which is part of the Interpublic Group /quotes/comstock/13*!ipg/quotes/nls/ipg (IPG 5.95, +0.02, +0.34%) . He, too, called for a boycott of Beck's show, saying on the air on the business-news channel CNBC that "this has to stop," and the "only way this stops" is if sponsors pull their support....

That's pretty cool - I have not seen those ads. Did they advertise their .22 survival rifle? (I think that's among their biggest sellers).
My understanding is that these companies have kept their advertising with FOX, they’ve just said they don’t want their spots airing during Beck’s show.

Neil Cavuto had a couple on that said that said that a democrat congressman hired his own goons to carry a ‘Obama is Hitler’ sign at his own town hall meetings to make the reform opposition look like crackpots. The term Moon-bats was popular here up to last year,

Sad, really. Reverend Wright, Professor Gates, Frank Marshall Davis, the list goes on and on. Each and every one of them, use and abuse, the very population they themselves purport to champion. They never champion black success. EVER. To do so, would be to relinquish the power they so enjoy. They are all narcissist’s. These men grew up with advantages that most black folks never get. They have chosen to take, and use that advantage to stoke racial hatred. In my opinion, part of the reason for this, is that they feel guilty for having had that advantage.

Google 'Glenn Beck advertisers' and witness the leftists patting themselves on the back for getting the corporations they always demonize to pull their ads when someone speaks the truth. Apparently at least for now, Wal-Mart is no longer an evil corporation. ColorOfChange is bragging that 145,000 of its members signed a petition to pressure those advertising to pull their ad money. I wonder how many of them actually work and spend their hard earned cash on the products of the sponsors that they threaten to boycott?It's time to flex our muscle and show these corporations who is really in the boat and rowing.

I am writing to thank you for pulling your advertisement dollars from The Glenn Beck Show. If your company had not chosen to acquiesce to a racist, black nationalist group, I might never have realized how much money I could be saving by not buying P&G products. Your decision to pull your advertising dollars from a show that consistently speaks the truth and tries to inform the American people showed me the contempt that Procter & Gamble has for the Constitution of the United States, the First Amendment, and for the people who defend both. I will not do business with a company that has so little regard for the freedoms we enjoy in America. Yesterday, while shopping at Target I substituted the P&G products on my shopping list with a notation of the savings. The results:

I also just purchased a Swiffer like duster that can be laundered, so I will no longer have to pay $8.49 for a box of 10 Swiffer refills. After reading a review which rated Costco batteries as lasting longer than Duracell, I'll be purchasing those in the future for real savings. Costco also carries my new favorite paper towel, Brawny, at great savings over Bounty. Camay and Ivory soap are off my list, while Dove is on. I never realized how many Procter & Gamble products I was buying until now and how much of my family's income was being wasted.
Other shoppers couldn't help but notice as I was walking down the aisles with calculator and list of P&G products in hand and asked me what I was so excited about. I guess screams of joy over a $9.11 savings on toilet paper are seldom heard in Target. After explaining to them my savings, every one of them asked me to e-mail them with the P&G product list and the substitutions I would recommend. I now have a dozen new friends after they pulled the Tide and Charmin out of their carts and replaced them with All and Angel Soft. Most of us are so busy working hard trying to make a better life for our families that we just buy the products that our mothers bought without ever really scrutinizing the quantity and price. I guess that is what Procter & Gamble relies on. Maybe it is time to start rethinking your business model.

All of a sudden advertisers can say what shows they want to sponsor.
Before, whenever the right called for advertisers to stop sponsoring shows that oh, say, might have shown a graphic of President Bush with "Snipers Wanted" in prime time, or maybe even Letterman with his pathetic attacks on Sarah Palin, Advertisers always said they just gave money to agencies and those agencies just bought time for them and they had NO CONTROL over ad placements.
Which is as one might surmise from its name, however they seem to have a redneck side (sponsor various racing events). Anybody know of a company with more conservative political views that insures Harley motorcycles? After several years with Guide One (the old Preferred Risk nondrinker company), Guide One quit insuring motorcycles and my Guide One agent started carrying Progressive in its place. Politically that's like Jekyll and Hyde.
Wow, that was an awesome post. I love seeing people take so much initiative in not only making changes, but posting it on a forum to help others do the same.
