Hey Everyone--I know we have Second Amendment rights, but don't you think actions like this might be inflammatory?

Do you think it does our side any good from a PR standpoint (i.e., to win over the average moderate) to have folks carrying firearms to these meetings, or might this turn to an incitement to violence that would cause considerable harm to our side?

I for one value and support our Second Amendment rights, but don't think it's appropriate to carry firearms to town hall meetings and to make a show of it, even if it's perfectly legal. What do all of you think?

The AP yet again jump on this and try to show we are all terrorists.

I for one would not go with my gun as I think it would play into their hands but then again we do have a right and this is what the media and the left need to understand.

If the the left or the state run media do not like it then they should move to another country

I don’t have a problem with it.

It’s our right. If we don’t exercise it, we lose it.

“don’t you think actions like this might be inflammatory?”

Expressing ones first AND second amendment rights at the same time? Terrible, just terrible.

Hey, as long as union thugs show up with knives and bats, I’d say it’s perfectly appropriate.

the only thing I think would be good about this is that the ACORN and SEIU thugs would think twice before pushing someone around if they saw a weapon. What else are we supposed to do when we know that they have been instructed to shove us around?

I completely disagree. A right unexercised is a right lost.

Anything that makes the libs wet their pants is alright with me.

I think it’s healthy for people to exercise all of their rights in public or private. You never know what could happen at any given time these days.

Wait a minute. This was reported on an earlier thread, with a video of the guy.

And there was another video of the same guy, who was chanting with the PRO-Obama protesters.

I have NO PROEBLEM with that. It shows CONSERVATIVES have self control. It is those without SELF CONTROL and who would that be? LIEBRALS! Their EMOTIONS are what rule them not logic or reason. Heck bring your guns! Let them be SEEN. Stop being ASHAMED of your RIGHT to BARE ARMS!

GEESH!

Alinksy Rule 3. “Whenever possible, go outside the expertise of the enemy. Look for ways to increase insecurity, anxiety and uncertainty.

I have no problem with what these fellows did. We’re in a cold civil war. As long as they are responsible, their presence will avoid any hot wars at these rallies.

“Phoenix police said the gun-toters at Monday’s event, including the man carrying an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle slung over his shoulder, didn’t need permits. No crimes were committed, and no one was arrested.

The man with the rifle declined to be identified but told The Arizona Republic that he was carrying the assault weapon because he could. ‘In Arizona, I still have some freedoms,’ he said.

Phoenix police Detective J. Oliver, who was monitoring the man at the downtown protest, said police also wanted to make sure no one decided to harm him.”

What a freakin’ NON-story!

Did I miss the part where he was a card-carring Republican? We all KNOW that’s the implication, here.

Maybe, just MAYBE, he was a plant by the DemonRats, but DANG! Nothing happened, LOL! No violence and no one was killed trying to deck this guy! ;)

Definitely agree.

This is close to screaming “fire” in a crowded theater and calling it “free speech”.

Wouldn’t it be awesome if a black conservative ought to showed up at one of these protests with a big-arse rifle? How in the world would the MSM handle that?

Not real concerned about it. If he had made any threatening moves he would have been taken out before anyone else knew what was going on.

It keeps the secret service on their toes for the day when they’ll have to protect a president again.

‘including one with a military-style rifle, milled among protesters outside the convention center where President Barack Obama was giving a speech’

Only in a America. Perhaps next time the AP can report how ‘normal’ this should be. The Republic should have been doing this years ago.

Side note. I think it would be wise to reread what the definition of a Domestic Terrorist is according to the Patriot Act. Not good.
