What Rush was just talking about:

Rasmussen- 54% say pass NO health care bill this year [66% Independents]
Rasmussen reports ^ | 8/15/09
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2316770/posts

...Sixty percent (60%) of Democrats say passing the legislation in Congress would be the best course of action. However, 80% of Republicans take the opposite view. Among those not affiliated with either major party, 23% would like the Congressional reform to pass while 66% would rather the legislators take no action.

It is Absolutely a Ruse!

Dick Morris has been very clear that Obama will stop at nothing to push this bill through.

See http://www.dickmorris.com

Also Michael D. Tanner writing in an article posted on the CATO Institute website www.cato.org

article at http://www.cato.org/pub_display.php?pub_id=10440

points out that the Government of the Obama Administration has no difficulty whatsoever in stretching definitions into utter deception.

“The “compromise” health-care reform being negotiated by six members of the Senate Finance Committee is shaping up as a classic warning of the dangers of bipartisanship without principles: It looks like they’ll keep the worst features of other Obama Care bills but simply change the names.

Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus (D-Mont.) and Sens. Kent Conrad (D-ND), Jeff Bingaman (D-NM) Charles Grassley (R-Iowa), Olympia Snowe (R-Me.) and Mike Enzi (R-Wyo.) are reportedly putting the final touches on a bill that may save President Obama’s chances for passing health-care reform this year....

First, instead of a government-run “public option,” it would set up a nationwide health-insurance co-op.

Now, if this was really going to be a co-op like rural electrical co-ops or your local health-food store owned and controlled by its workers and the people who use its services it would be a meaningless but harmless diversion.

...But these aren’t true co-ops. The members wouldn’t choose its officers the president would. Plus, the secretary of Health and Human Services would have to approve its business plan, and thus could force it to offer whatever benefits, premiums and reimbursement schedules Washington wants. Finally, the federal government would provide start up, and possibly ongoing, subsidies.

A “co-op” run by the federal government, under rules imposed by the federal government and with federal funding is simply government-run health insurance by another name.

Or, as Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid put it, “We’re going to have some type of public option, call it ‘co-op,’ call it what you want.”

In Short: This Administration & its Cronies in the House & Senate, as well as the complicit media, are more than happy to NOW label the option formerly known as the “Public Option” a “Co-op” instead. The media will be pleased to present moving diagrams showing pictures of people representing the “Co-op” as if it’s your friendly neighborhood grocery group a group you REALLY trust. A group made up of your friends and your favorite neighbor.

The elegance of the RUSE is that it’s REALLY the very SAME thing as the “Public Option,” but in a different, brightly-colored package...

Late in bttt !!

..” the difference in a 90 and an 89 is 5 strokes and the difference in an 80 and a 79 is 10 strokes”

I love cardinals too....Have had 15 pair in the back yard at the same time at the feeder, goldfinches, dove, sparrows, wrens, woodpeckers, at the same time too.....the smallest card was the meanest at the feeder.....so I put out more seed in other locations. Most all the female cardinals eat off the ground for some reason.

My criticism of Woodstock applies only to the mass media that presumes to speak for me. The musical taste of FReepers such as LS (who backed Jimi Hendrix IIRC) do not concern me in the least.

The USPS sucked at package delivery. Remember when if you ordered the latest K-Tell Veg-O-Matic it took 4-6 weeks for delivery? That's why UPS and FedEx had a niche, they were more efficient than the USPS.

BUT, when the USPS went into the package delivery business in 1913 they wiped out all the private competition at that time. To say health insurance companies can survive that don't get free money or don't have to make a profit is complete BS. Apples and Oranges is right!

I really like this little cardinal guy. We feed our backyard squirrels and I always put out some seed just for him. I was impressed that he was always hanging around the squirrel feeders, never giving up!

Cardinals are jays, but not as cantankerous as the blue jays. The smallest card I refereed to would sometimes buzz the squirrels to get them off the feeder. I have to idle the feeder every 3 years for a season or 2 as the coon population comes around to often then and now we have a rabies outbreak in the area since the beginning of the year. I’ll put the feeder back on line come Thanksgiving.

Our squirrels are on controlled feeding. They’re very used to feeding times (morning and afternoon) and they don’t let the food stay around long enough for any other animals to get it. They get mostly unsalted, in-shell peanuts.
