Good morning, NN!
What’s all the convection and motion to the SW of Claudette?

Good morning, NN - thanks for the ping...
I’m assuming, from the chirping crickets in the ‘news’, that Claudette came onshore like a lamb.....

Actually, I heard this morning some poor fellow died and the bureaucrats were trying to decide whether it was storm related.

That convection still over the water is feeding Claudette. Most of the system’s weather is displaced from the center of the storm. Helps to explain why she was still a tropical storm hours after landfall.

Bill looks like a fish storm, except for the possibility of it hitting Bermuda.
The idiots on the Weather Channel this morning implied the forecast for Bill implied it could hit the US, which is a bald-faced lie. Guess they gotta keep folks tuned in somehow.

About 30 minutes after my wife got home, Tropical Wet Blanket Claudette declared it Happy Hour, opened up another monsoon burst, and took down a 10 foot tall trellis of Texas muscadines in my front yard.
Damn her!!!!! LOL
I'll need the truck to pull that sucker upright again. And probably about 20 linear feet of rebar to hold it there.

But the grapes weren’t uprooted?
Even if they were, just put ‘em back, pack’em in and prune ‘em like you were trying to kill them in a month or so.
In many fruiting perennial plants, root shock instigates accelerated growth and flowering the next year. Grapes are probably the most forgiving and regenerative plant we have.

Believe it or not, the base of the vines are so thick and entwined, it didn't even break the soil. Made them a little limber, maybe, but no actual damage. Helluva thing for as large a mass as went on its side. I'll definitely have to get it upright this weekend. Muscadines will grab anything available - it might crawl into the driveway and eat my van by Sunday.
