Tropical Storms Ana, Bill, & Claudette

Tropical Depression 4 developed in the East Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Tampa Bay early Sunday morning. A tropical storm warning has been issued for NW Florida. Tropical Storms Ana and Bill continue to move westward, with Bill gaining some strength overnight.

Was out walking the dog at 5AM when I saw the lightning to the west. It looked tropical. Lo and behold, I was staring at TD4.

Haven’t had time yet to figure out if this was the yellow “low probability of development” system off the FL Keys yesterday. As I said above, I saw the non-stop lightning while walking the puppy this morning. TD4 is right out my back door.

Turtle brownies are gooey dark chocolate with chopped pecans and drizzled with caramel. Chocolate and beer are the two most important hurricane staples. It’s just too early for beer.

This hurricane season for the Atlantic seems to be beginning normally in mid-August. One tropical storm after the other, which will almost certainly develop into hurricanes on route to Hurricane Ally.

Great to see you again! Three systems nearing FL is a bit ominous, and we’ll continue to hope for the best.
