Several national advertisers, including some Wisconsin companies, have pulled their commercials from the broadcast of the Glenn Beck Program on the Fox News Channel after Beck called President Barack Obama a "racist" who has a "deep-seated hatred for white people....
Several advertisers then removed their commercials from the show, including ....
Racine-based S.C. Johnson & Son Inc. [and] Plymouth, Wis.-based Sargento Foods Inc., a privately held company, pulled its ads from Beck's show.
Barbara Gannon, spokeswoman for Sargento, told BizTimes today, "I can confirm that we have instructed our media buyer not to buy any advertising that would appear during the Glenn Beck Show. We market our products to people regardless of their political affiliations, yet we do not want to be associated with hateful speech used by either liberal or conservative television hosts."

If there is a store near you that sells Mexican products, there is a Mexican vinegar, I _think_ it is labeled Di Primo, that is always nearly a dollar cheaper. Just this week, my local grocery store, an IGA, had a special on vinegar for $1.88/gal as a loss leader, since it is pickling season. Also, Sam's sells 4 packs of vinegar for a nice discount, which I cannot recall exactly at the moment, but 4 gallons would last the average person a long time.
If you add the peels from an orange to a quart of white vinegar and let it steep for a few days, you can then use it mixed with water and a drop of dish detergent to clean anything. I don't use it straight, though, as the orange oil can leave a film. You need to experiment with mixing it with water and detergent. Different mixtures are useful for different applications. A quart of orange vinegar will make several gallons of cleaning fluid.
I use 1/4 cup of ammonia with a couple of gallons of water and some dish soap for floors, straight ammonia for built up grime and washing soda mixed with a little water (and nothing else) if I need a scrub.
I am pretty sure that the proprietary cleaning products are all just the common chemicals mixed with water and coloring and scent and a dash of detergent.
LOL. No problem there. They don't go with 'Cowboy' Boots and a Stetson. (I'm not exactly a Dockers kind of person.)
This is the response I got from the company when I emailed them that I would not purchasing any of their products.
” — We appreciate you sharing your comments and
concerns about Sargento ads appearing during “The Glenn Beck Show.”
It’s true that after listening to some of his recent shows we decided to
stop buying ads during that program, but Sargento still advertises on
other Fox News shows.
Sargento sells our products to people regardless of their political
affiliations. Yet we do not want to be associated with hateful speech
used by either liberal or conservative television hosts. We’ll share
your comments with our marketing department.

Soooo the truth is “hateful”.
Hmmmm.....
I hope that Glenn (who I listen to about once a week) releases the names of ALL the companies that choose to pull their ads due to this pressure campaign.
I will write each of them a letter informing them of my decision to boycott their products as a result of their bowing to the Obama administration’s pressure.
I have a half used package of Sargento mozzarella. I will be sending them the package when I’ve emptied it, and let them know what I will be buying unless they reconsider.
Take the package off the cheese, and mail it to Sargento, letting them know which competitors’ products you will be buying from now on.
I am frankly dismayed to read in BizTimes.com that P&G has decided to boycott the Glen Beck program because you disagree with his positions. I am therefore forced to boycott the P&G Co, and all its products, (and boy! I never realized that I use so many of your products every week, till I printed off your list!) It will be a real sacrifice on my part to discontinue using P&G products, but one I am willing to make, and suggest the same to everyone on my e-mail address list. The bigger they are, the harder they fall.
SC Johnson has NOT pulled their ads, apparently.
Good. But they bear watching.
For current list see the following link.
Also, sign their petition of support for Glenn to read.
There are other advertisers listed there also, to contact to support Glenn.
I’ve instructed our purchasing department (me) not to buy any of Sargento’s products. I vote with my wallet! Viva free speech and the First Amendment

I will be doing the same, and writing a letter on a nice letterhead to Sargento.
Talk to the manager of your local supermarket. Ask him to remove Sargento products from their shelves because Sargento has supported a racist groups attack on free speech.

A CAPITAL Idea!
Doyle will use the USDA to do it too!
Already Done!
Yeah, screw ‘em, there’s other brands that make lasagna ingredients that don’t listen to the kos kommie rag and the HuffPo.
“Went to the store to buy cheese for taquitos this morning. Usually I buy Sargento, but today I bought the generic brand. They will never get another penny of my money.”
Ditto. I looked for Kraft but couldn’t find it. I chose the generic brand as well.
Read SC Johnson's statement again:
SC Johnson has not pulled or cancelled advertising for the Glenn Beck show, as we never directed our advertising to this particular program.
Since they did not direct the network to specifically advertise during Glenn Beck, there is nothing to "pull". They can just tell the network, "oh we did not intend for our ads to run during that hour."
Same as pulling the ad. Just some slick wording.
See my post 98. They DID pull their ad, their response was cleverly worded. Must be taking lessons from the Obama Dough Boy.
How many sponsors does he have left? It seems like a lot are pulling out.
