U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee on Thursday distanced herself from a University of Houston graduate student and Texas Obama delegate who falsely identified herself as a pediatric physician at the congresswoman's health care reform town hall meeting this week.
“I've never met her,” Jackson Lee said as she prepared to take questions from doctors and other health care workers in a session at St. Joseph Medical Center.
Roxana Mayer, who warmly embraced Jackson Lee at the close of Tuesday's session at a Fifth Ward community center, had spoken in favor of the president's health care package. The Texas Medical Board, which oversees doctors in Texas, has no record of Mayer, 31, holding a physician's license.
In a West Coast political blog, Patterico's Pontifications, Mayer admitted she is not a doctor.
When queried by the Houston Chronicle if she held a medical license outside Texas, she responded via e-mail: “If my initial statement to the Houston Chronicle can not be substantiated, then I understand your responsibility to omit it.”

There was an “informed opinion” female doc at Cardin’s performance in Hagerstown Wednesday.
She sure looked an awful lot like that woman and *not* like a doctor.
Our friend who got inside the meeting referred to her as the “chick in a lab coat”.

Well why should she have to go through school and all that hassel to be a Doctor. In Obamcare we are going to need a lot of new Docs.47 million illegal aliens will have to be cared for. Look how bout “Granny” on the Beverly Hill Billys. Fees could be lowered and we could save money on drugs. These new Obamadocs would be efficient and lower cost. Equal outcome education will take care of the problem once and for all.

Motor-mouth Sheila Jackson Lee' s intellectually facile explanation of her rude unconscionable behavior at a townhall---answering a cell phone while a cancer survivor was speaking----raises several questions. How did this rude, obnoxious woman ever get elected? Voter fraud comes to mind.
To add insult to injury she (1) first lied about her actions, (2) claimed the tape was "doctored," then, (3) told news organs she was talking to a healthcare hotline. I urge the Houston Chronicle to subpoena Lee's cell phone records to determine who exactly she was fielding phone calls from.
Lee clearly owns an imperious sense of entitlement, and expects Americans to kneel in obeisance at her feet. She had better disabuse herself of the notion that she, and she alone, gets to decide what happens to Americans' healthcare. Aint gonna happen.
Finally, I don't know where this woman came from, but Texas voters are going to send her back there ASAP.

Sounds to me like Ms. Lee is hoping to use Tracy as her 0care poster child.
Finally, I don't know where this woman came from, but Texas voters are going to send her back there ASAP.I'm pretty sure that Sheila Jackson Lee is as safe in her Texas District as Jess Jackass Jr is in his IL District.
In English; their constituents are racists and only care about skin color.

BTW, I hear Snarlen went down 12 points after his townhalls. He was up 11 points prior.....a 23 point switcheroo.

Just consider what an admission that was: SJL is so important that she can listen to two conversations at the same time. It must be something that is a habit with her, and her staff will recognize that it is regular behavior of hers.
Even on Greta's show she did not know how to listen, but just filibustered. Finally Greta said to her: you do not listen. SJL is so full of herself, that she had no idea to what Greta was referring.
When caught, she responds "Lie for me".
Political fraud should be punished the same as financial fraud - because this kind of crap will cost this country much in terms of taxes and (worst of all) lives - if Obama-Don't-Care gets passed into law.
This woman is a piece of work and based upon what I saw out of her and it will be an act of the Almighty to free her brain. Thus far I see nothing positive for any American coming out of what this bunch calls reform.
She could have saved herself a whole lot of time by just announcing that ‘hotline’ number she claims there is, for the rest of US to get the ‘government’ answers we are looking to have answered.
The long claimed accusation of Reverend Jesse Jackson that some people can never be racist because of institutional racism is in a stage of withering on that proverbial vine. And these that have been raised on the planting the seeds for a harvest of retribution are nearing a reaping of the seeds they have sown.
The very fact that she agreed to appear with Greta indicated to me that she knows is in deep trouble.
She is backtracking like crazy to save herself.
