It’s a really impressive, informed and polite but impassioned group.

However, one big game I’m picking up from Specter’s comments that I think will be a key Democrat strategy is to strip out of the senate bill anything controversial that the house has already voted for. That way, worms like Specter will vote for it—knowing that the controversial measures will be put back in in the reconciliation process. They can claim they didn’t vote for such, but they knew full well it would be in the final bill anyway.

Funny. It seems to me that the government already gets that information. Specific information (including institution and account number) is provided to the government each year on Form 1099-INT.
