Did you follow the phony crap McCain tried last year? Every week he took a different position. At least Obama’s made up stories were consistent which is part of why he won. The republican party would have to believe in something besides power for honesty.

I hate to tell you this; but I know his proposals if not now out in the open there’s a very good chance it will be done in the future. The baby boomers to them are a big problem. They have stolen so much in the past as well as now; we can’t afford any programs at all.
Back in my father’s day; you didn’t let even the state lend you money or anything.
The Medicare premium is $303 per month. The GOV pays $227 and the insured pays $76.
Let the insured pay more of the premium. They aren’t poor. The DEMS want to cut the care, not cut the subsidy.

DEMS want 76 + 150 = 226 (cut back on benefits)
GOP should go for 153 + 150 = 303
people who cannot afford $153 are eligible for Medicaid, just as they are now. Medicaid can pay it. We do not need to subsidize medical premiums for retirees who have assets!

Those three points don’t include me. I’m against the government being involved with making my health decisions. To achieve this, we must make sure the goverment is not involved in paying for it, because as soon as they do they’ll feel it’s their money that they’re spending so they can dictate pretty much anything that might impact your health including the food you eat, how much you eat, what you drink, what you inhale, the level of risk in your activities, etc, etc endlessly.
I was talking specifically about seniors already dependent on medicare and medicaid that many freepers here want to work up on the idea of cuts in the program being 'death panels' for them. They are actually promoting endlessly expanded socialized medicine for political expediency and calling it the truth. But in other posts many will claim they are for cuts in social spending and medicare deficits are democrats deficits. One freeper defending F-22 against cuts pinged me with "Trillions wasted in defense but not a penny for welfare".
Neil Cavuto was poo-poo-ing the ‘death panels’ talking points yesterday pointing out that health care is already rationed , and already rationed by the government and the insurance companies. So is this argument that Obama is trading one set of death panels for another? He Pointed out it was not helpful(Cavuto, another sane person) .
Cavuto also had angry democrats who went to a town hall meeting they said was staged by pro-reformers, and they claimed that the democrats hired someone with a 'Obama is Hitler' sign to make anti-reformers look crazy.

I have seen democrats in control and republicans in control and have come to the conclusion it is hopeless. George Will was right in early 90s when he said congressional term limits is the only possible fix, and they wont do it. Every year they stay in congress and they get more power hungry and dishonest and evil especially the Senate.
And how do we get away from expecting the president to pass huge reforms that screw everything up and run up so much debt? The MSM creates that expectation so they have stories.

You mean each State (or two) becomes a country? So in the case of Iraq each state would get an occupation zone like the four allies in WWII and Germany?
I will take it a step further. Break up Washington DC. There is no need; especially today why the government should all be located in the same place. Get rid of some of the cabinet positions and get rid of the czars. There is no need. Get rid of perks to elected officials and government workers. Elect honest people who want the Constitution to be the guideline.
The GOP is sitting back and telling Obama to take it slow.
The real leader against ObamaCare is Dick Morris. He is on Fox regularly telling people that grandma will get run over by ObamaCare. Morris is using the same playbook he used to get Bill Clinton re-elected.
My friend works at a nursing home. The seniors there, esp. the women, complained about how Bush, Cheney, and Rove want to privatize social security to deny medical to them. Now the seniors, despite voting for Obama, are upset at ObamaCare. I am chuckling at the irony of the Clinton playbook being used against Obama.
I’m still surprised Dick Morris is pretty much on our side now.
