JEWISH Democrats strongly agree with the Israeli position and dis agree with President Obama's on issues such as a Palestinian state, settlement construction and trading land for peace. Does the president realize he's at risk of a break with an important part of his base?
A phone survey (sponsored by the Traditional Values Coalition and conducted by Global Marketing Research Services on July 22-24) of 500 American Jews who self-identified as Democrats exposes broad disagreement with Obama's Middle East policies.
Asked to choose between the Obama view that "if Israel could settle its dispute with the Palestinian refugees and give them a nation of their own, that the Arabs would live in peace with Israel" and the Israeli government view that "the Arabs will never live in peace with Israel and that giving them a nation of their own will just make them stronger," Jewish Democrats sided with the Israeli view by 52 percent to 20 percent.
On the contentious issue of construction in existing West Bank settlements, Democratic Jews also sided with Israel more than with Obama. The survey asked for agreement with Obama when he "says that it is very important that Israel not expand its settlements on the West Bank so as not to alienate the Palestinians," or with Israel that "it should be allowed to build new homes in existing settlements but not to start new ones" -- and got 52-37 backing for the Israeli view.

A day late and a dollar short....but let’s hope they remember this in 2010 and 2012.
They won't.
I wouldn’t bet against you. :(
Well, 0bama is watching Jews per house in the West Bank settlements.

If they didn’t “break” in 2008, they will never break. Anti-religious, anti-Christian heritage overcomes their brains.
Oh YES we will
The GOP, if it were smart, would take it upon itself to remind them. But I fear that few, short of Sarah Palin herself, will deal more than powder puff punches.
We shall see, I hope you’re right. Maybe in Houston what about NYC!
With all due respect, I believe that Obama could bomb Tel Aviv and it wouldn’t cost him a single Jewish vote. Somehow American Jews seem to be able to discount the obvious and long standing anti-Israel policies of the Democrats while completely ignoring the generally pro-Israel Republican positions when they go to the polls. ‘Tis a mystery that you have to be Jewish to really understand. I certainly can’t explain it.
All to often they associate Republicans with the anti-semitism and country club-type exclusion and blue bloodism of another age.
That is why we have the phrase,”Live like Episcopalians, vote like Puerto Ricans.”
Hence the epithet: "Oven Jews".
I’d love it if you were right.

What did they expect? BO sat in the pews of the Rev. Wright’s church for 20 years listening to rants against the J O O Z E. He couldn’t have slept through all of them. Maybe some actually took root.
How can anyone being a Christian vote for a party that thinks abortion is a woman's right? Bill Clinton having an intern under his desk performing oral sex was "everybody does it" and "oral sex is not sex".If their General Baptist minister preached this from their pulpit on a Sunday morning they would fire him on the spot, yet they vote for a man to lead this country that does, believes and supports these sinful things.
If I smoke a cigarette, have one alcoholic drink they would think that an unforgivable sin.
It is not just Jews that are foolish for voting democrat, it is Christians as well. Not all Christians voted obama, but my guess is all that are democrats did as they have been doing as long as I have known them and will continue to do so.
Whatever their reason for electing this obamanation as president,it was stupid, obama isn't just an enemy of Israel, he is an enemy of this country too. It's tiresome to read on every Israel thread the bashing of Jews for their obama vote and forget many who hated McCain either sat on their hands, voted for a third party and claimed themselves too conservative to vote against one they knew would harm our country.
And I get tired of the JEWS being told that Obama is bad for Israel etc etc as if that is all that should matter to them
I agree........America First
Nowadays, most Episcopalians vote like Puerto Ricans.
