Palin's gone but her e-mail and gift issues live on
Anchorage Daily News ^ | August 4th, 2009 09:08 PM | SEAN COCKERHAM and LISA DEMER

,,,(snip) In one lingering issue, the Alaska Public Offices Commission has refused Palin's request to keep secret the discounts that come from her husband's Arctic Cat sponsorship. APOC also said Palin needs to disclose all the gifts she received last year, rejecting her interpretation that she doesn't need to until after she gets around to actually opening the gifts.

ROTFLMAo -- a gift isn't a gift until it is opened. Seems some stuff has been sitting around for a year or more. I will say that is a very quaint view of a legal issue.

The gift that does keep giving.

More mess to clean up and in another venue, Andree Mc is having her day in court over the use of Yahoo email for State business.

The paper will flog these and other stories in an effort to stay afloat.

Have fun - and don't shoot the piano player.

the “ROTFLMAo — a gift isn’t a gift until it is opened. Seems some stuff has been sitting around for a year or more. I will say that is a very quaint view of a legal issue.” was in the comments section - don’t know how it wound up in the body of the article.

Oh well - computers, ya gotta love ‘em.

If I remember correctly, I believe that government employees only have to fill out disclosure reports once a year and typically it is in April...so I would tell her to tell them that she will fill out the paperwork when I am required to and not a minute before...or she could tell them to f-off (which is what I would do...lol).

It’s tough to figure these things out sometimes. I’d say that about half of all politicians are crooks, and they’re not restricted to any one party.

If Palin has to deal with some investigations that are part of a process that can be used to clean up the country in general, maybe it’s worth the cost.

I don’t even visit the ADN site any more. The only reason they keep running stories about Palin is to try to keep their traffic up. My bet is that their traffic on the web is tanking, right along with their failing print edition. Hopefully, they’ll be out of business by the end of the year.

...Andree Mc is having her day in court over the use of Yahoo email for State business.

I'm sure your pal Bill Wielechowski and his legislative brethren can't wait to apply the same restrictions against using private emails that Bill W's buddy Andree McLeod wants to apply to the executive branch. Right? LOL.

David Christopher Kernell stood before a federal judge in handcuffs, shackles and tennis shoes Wednesday to plead not guilty to hacking Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s personal e-mail account.(excerpted) http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2008/oct/09/jury-indicts-ut-student-accused-hacking-palins-e-m/

David is the son of Memphis Democratic Rep. Mike Kernell.

I think she should report the gifts. Right now and in the condition and knowledge of what they are:

Box, red wrapping paper, ribbon, card. Value $3.98 estimate including card.

Box, blue wrapping paper, ribbon, no card. Value $1.97

After all for all she knows she has a bunch of empty boxes until she opens them.

We've got tax cheats all over the dem party and no one cares. But making sure Sarah crosses all the t's in her paperwork is somehow going to "clean up the country"?

If you're a troll, go away. If you aren't a troll, grow up.

Damn right, Sarah had better have every single i dotted and t crossed. There’s nothing wrong with me expecting Republican leaders to follow the rules.

Obama has failed to ensure that his paperwork is 100% and he’s paying the price for it now. It’s absurd to say that no one cares about compliance to the law when it comes to Democrats.

Oh, you are a troll. What a shame. I was hoping you were just stupid.

Well, you’re right in a way. Not enough people care about making sure that Democrats follow the rules. I know that I care and I know that there are a lot of other people who care. I’m not sure if we’re in the minority or if too many people are just busy trying to keep their jobs to worry about politics.

It’s pretty depressing these days but I try not to get too defeatist about the political scene. In my hometown over 200 people showed up to a protest over healthcare, many organized through this website. If you think I’m a troll for saying that we can stop the Democrats, you’re just jaded.
