Must read article on the faux outrage over Palin "not showing up again" at an event she "agreed" to attend. Please read the whole thing at the link. ......... ~snip The invitation, as described by the Family Council, for the governor to be the first "official" signature on the petition, somehow became a public speech in the ADN's article. (Now this is special: The original invitation was for her just to sign a petition... now the ADN and MSM make it "a speech". How surprising!) ~snip It is clear that the facts are on Governor Palin's side: 1. Governor Palin...
  • Palin's gone but her e-mail and gift issues live on

,,,(snip) In one lingering issue, the Alaska Public Offices Commission has refused Palin's request to keep secret the discounts that come from her husband's Arctic Cat sponsorship. APOC also said Palin needs to disclose all the gifts she received last year, rejecting her interpretation that she doesn't need to until after she gets around to actually opening the gifts. ROTFLMAo -- a gift isn't a gift until it is opened. Seems some stuff has been sitting around for a year or more. I will say that is a very quaint view of a legal issue.

Do you hear it? Maybe it isn't loud enough yet -- just a small noise tickling at your subconscious, like a kitchen faucet dripping into the sink when you're trying to sleep in an upstairs bedroom. Go to the window, or better yet, step outside and put a hand up to your ear. Got it now? A faint clicking noise, starting slowly over the past week, and building to a crescendo as we approach the swearing-in of Sean Parnell as Alaska Governor.
  • Nutcase Leah Burton: Palin AG Pick Led Secret Pro-Rape Cabal; UPDATE: Letter from WAR Added

Yesterday, when I saw allegations floating around the Alaska nutroots blogosphere that Wayne Anthony Ross, Palin's designee as Alaska Attorney General, had made comments in favor of rape and domestic violence, I just laughed and dismissed it as not worth answering. However, Shannyn Moore plastered the allegations up on the Huffington Post, and Sean Cockerham, whose employer at the Anchorage Daily News is always anxious to investigate wacky Palin conspiracy theories, posted on the "story" at the ADN in-house blog. So we should probably do some vetting of Leah Burton.

  • Our view: Parental consent? (ADN editorial)

Gov. Sarah Palin and some conservative legislators are pushing a bill to require teenagers to get their parent's consent before having an abortion. We've been here before. The Alaska Supreme Court in 2007 declared such a law unconstitutional. It's still unconstitutional. Parents do not have the right to compel a daughter to abort a pregnancy. Neither do they have the right to compel a pregnant daughter to give birth. Pregnant teens should have ultimate control over the decision to bear a child or abort a pregnancy, just as much as any woman.

From Lisa Demer in Anchorage -- He’s been called the shadow governor. Now Todd Palin’s role in state government is at the center of a lawsuit seeking e-mails the governor’s office has withheld for reasons such as “executive privilege.”
  • Sarah Palin At Her Home (Post Election Interview, Sunday 11-9-08, from ADN)

Video here. Brand new interview with Alaska Governor Sarah Palin in her home. She sets rumors to rest quite conclusively, reflects on the campaign, and talks about the future. Piper Palin takes requests for water, soda, and coffee at the end, which is pretty funny.
