It is now going on eight month since President Bush has left office. I thank God for the time he was our President and kept us save after the horrible day on September 11, 2001 For this month thread I will post the August photos from 2001 - 2004. The quote of the day will be President Bushs announcement on the Patients Bill Of Rights, which I find very appropriate being what will face us if the democrats health care bill passes and becomes law
..
Trust me...it’s good to BE back! I missed everyone!
Thanks! It’s good to be missed!
Oooo...that sounds like a great event to get to go to! I will be watching for more information. Sometimes it’s hard to get tickets to things at the Petroleum Club...kinda exclusive, ya know! :D
I’ll bet Karen has some great stories to tell! LOL!
Looks to me that President Bush is saying a prayer for The Kenyan - knowing what is in store for him.
“Great picture! Looks to me that President Bush is saying a prayer for The Kenyan - knowing what is in store for him.”
I have it on my desktop on my computer at work...it’s like garlic to the stray libs...I sometimes think he is musing about what an underpowered boy he is to be stepping into a man’s job...or thinking “oh you don’t want to mess with Dick”...your interpretation is far more generous...I like yours better...I am still very angry about the way they treated W and Laura compared to the idol worhip that this Mutt gets, though so that might be giving me a little more jaundiced eye...
Always... & we miss You when Your gone!
Only 8 months! Seems like a lifetime since we’ve had a PATRIOT POTUS!
Thanks for the wonderful pictures of the last real President we had! He wasn't perfect, but he was 1,000,000 times better than the left-wing scum that inhabits the WH these days.
Thanks again for reminding us that the presidency can be an honorable office in the right hands ...
Your comments about history struck me because I just finished reading Team of Rivals, Doris Kearns Goodwin’s excellent book (despite the plagarism charges) about the personality and style and savvy of the man and president, Abraham Lincoln.
There were so many things revealed about how he accomplished things, like getting the nomination for President from the new Republican party despite having little national experience. His get out the vote methods for his elections to Congress and to the Presidency were very modern and savvy.
How he handled people and what effect that had on the success of policy was intricately detailed.
I remember seeing the Brady photo of Lincoln visiting Gen. Grant in the field during the Civil War, but I was unaware how often he visited the army at the front and how much he was involved in trying to push for more successful strategies, sometimes very close to the frontlines. The soldiers loved him and vigorously cheered him, and he often pressed in and shook as many hands as he could.
Sound familar?
I wonder what will be learned by students of history years after we all are gone about the nitty gritty inside stories from the George W. Bush presidency, after information becomes available from archives.
Please tell me about the bronze star. :-D
Any link to the text of the speech George gave in South Korea?
Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to find one.

A positive article from Newsweek?! Is hell freezing over?
THE VISION THING
Barack Obama’s plans for Africa are not nearly as ambitious as George W. Bush’s were.
http://www.newsweek.com/id/210665
It was for Meritorious Service in East Baghdad, for leadership on over 200 missions, for leading in battle with no casualties, among other stellar things (including some that he didn't tell his Mom had happened. :)
He actually got it in Iraq, but was re-awarded it here in the states so that we could particpate (and cry!).
He was right next to Sadr City when they flushed out the thugs, so it was dicey for a while. His mission was part of the Petraeus plan, and it must have worked, because we've gotten the victory that President Bush fought so hard (nearly alone) to achieve.
We're very, VERY proud!
Thanks!
Before hubby drags me back to the couch for more ‘ice pack’ therapy*, I want to share with you this week’s MUST READ articles:

*Hubby and I were in a car accident a week ago — a SUV blew through a stoplight and t-boned the passenger side of our BMW where I was sitting. Given the speed/size of the other car and the fact that my side airbags failed to deploy, I am VERY lucky to even be walking (alright, limping) around today — my guardian angel was definitely working overtime.
[Hubby’s calling — time for the ice packs! Night all.]
Take good care of yourself and keep us posted....
WE care!
Oh, MY....May God help you heal perfectly! Thanks for taking the time to post these. Remember 15 minutes ice on, 15 minutes OFF....don’t freeze your parts!!! (I almost did that once!)
So sorry to hear that, Deb. Holy Lord, your Angels were
definitely with you ... thank God. Beemers have
great workmanship and strength built in. Prayers for
your continued recovery and that of your hubby. Anything

Gentle hug & high 5!!
I thank God for protecting my dear friend, and ask Him to lay His Hand upon you and heal you completely. In Jesus' Name!
Thanks again for the wonderful links.
(Are you able to work? Will it be a while before you can meet for lunch? Are you getting good medical care??)
