Several readers have written over the past few days taking us to task for dismissing so-called birthers as lunatics without bothering to refute their claims. We reluctantly concede their point. The birthers have managed to sow confusion in the minds of some who are not lunatics, and for the latter groups benefit it is worth clarifying matters.

You are a liar.
BTW, you never answered my question.
Since so many here say you are a troll, should I believe them?
LOL, LOL, LOL, LOL, LOL, LOL, LOL, LOL!
What are you on?
I havent seen anything as looney as you since the dude on June 4, 1967 laying in the gutter at Haight and Masonic beating his head against the curb.
How do you like that. The “lunatic” birthers are the ones who are deceptive and it will be their fault that Obama is re-elected.
ANYTHING BUT **THAT**
ANYTHING
Fine, how about school records? Medical records? Travel records? etc.
Woo..hoo, nooooooooope, these may show different names, different citizenships, grades, addictions, etc.
Reasonable people will demand that 0dunga follow previous presidents, most elected officials and appointees subject to Senate confirmation, by providing a paper trail that proves that he's not a ghost.
Aren't fruitcakes and spammers, who will now accuse me of being a "ghoster," bothered by hidden records?
Maybe the said records are so 0bambi-transparent that we see through it!
Well... that’s a novel word on Free Republic... LOL..
It’s like I said earlier to someone... you can expect all these to be used for everyone else on threads...
Well, here on Free Republic, there are birthers, nutters, truthers (but they dont talk very much... LOL..), those of the Obama Derangement Syndrome, nitwits, trolls, Obots, the crazy Ron-Paulites, Romney-bots, along with the liars, noobs, crazies, whackos, idiots, the brain-dead, conspiro-nuts, atheists, Evos, creationists, bible-thumpers, God-squad, cult-members, alien-abductees, greys, ... well... this could be a long list... LOL...
You name it weve got them here... :-)
And so it goes.. nothing unusual here... Free Republic, operating as normal...
The following is the comment I posted at the WSJ:
This issue is not going away. In fact it seems more and more likely that this issue will eventually bring down the Obama administration. I say this partially because the primary tactic being used by the WSJ writer here and and other Obama supporters elsewhere is ridicule. The use of the term birther is a primary example. Birther is not even a word in the English language; it is some type of derogatory slang term made up by Obama supporters. This is not surprising. Rule #5 from Rules for Radicals by Saul Alinsky: Ridicule is mans most potent weapon. As an argument however this tactic is generally only used when one is defending the indefensible.
The piece attempted to confuse the issue by mixing fact and misleading exaggerations. There are legitimate concerns about this issue. Instead releasing an actual Birth Certificate or even an actual Certification of Live Birth which could be examined by experts, the public was provided electronic facsimiles of two different documents by the Obama campaign. The electronic facsimiles conveniently did not include the doctors name or the hospitals name making it difficult or impossible to verify the actual details.
A Certification of Live Birth is an abbreviated record that does not include all of the relevant details needed even for many normal day to day identification matters (e.g. your child wants to join Little League). A Certificate of Live Birth also known as a long form birth certificate would be the most appropriate document to establish Obamas actual citizenship status.
The Obama campaign first identified Queens Medical Center as the place of Obamas birth. More recently they are claiming he was born at Kapi’olani Medical Center. At this point neither facility will confirm anything about Obamas birth because of privacy regulations.
Obama has reportedly spent nearly a million dollars keeping secret his Birth Certificate, his kindergarten records, his Punahou school records, his Occidental College records, his Columbia University records, his Columbia thesis, his Harvard Law School records, his Harvard Law Review articles, his scholarly articles from the University of Chicago, his passport, his medical records, his files from his years as an Illinois state senator, his Illinois State Bar Association records, any baptism records, and his adoption records.
How many people do you know who have a birth certificate that does not show the hospital and doctors name on it. Very few I would guess. When told that the documentation provided by Obama is missing this information several polls have shown that a vast majority of Americans believe Obama should be compelled to provide at the least a long form birth certificate. This is an issue that resonates with people and is not likely to go away. Awareness is growing by leaps and bounds as Obamas support is falling into the abyss.
I think it is very unwise for ridicule to be used as a tactic against the judgment of a vast majority of Americans. This last word by the WSJ is very likely to erode the WSJs credibility with the public. Given the questionable future of most newspapers in this country if I was the publisher of the WSJ I would object to any story which proclaimed that these were the papers last word on anything. This article was misleading, patronizing and arrogant. Shame on the writer. Shame on the editors of the WSJ.
It’s like I was saying to another FReeper about that... (and I should respond to you personally as you’re just as deserving as the last guy, doncha know...

I see that we’ve got Free Republic — up to speed — for the evening... fasten seat belts and let’s go to town... LOL...
I'd like to ask Taranto, If a birth certificate from 1961 is "obsolete," the what does that make the US Constitution? You know, it was from, like, 1789!

ST,
I have no personal beef with you. But if you attempt to lump me in with “moon landing’ folks as you seem to be, your words:
“theyre still talking about men not landing on the moon, too... and its 40 years later... LOL...” Our uneasy, agree to disagree sort of truce will evaporate. That is uncalled for.
I too am a Sarah fan. I applaud you for that and wish you nothing but good things. But do not mistake my good wishes for weakness. You said: “especially since the State of Hawaii made their announcement that Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen.”
The state of HI has no legal authority to declare BO a NBC. What they issued was a very legally worded statement that invites other questions if properly worded. Please see:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2304557/posts
Questions properly worded and issued by the correct people may just net the results that all conservatives pray for evey day. Will you join us in the prayer that our dear Republic be restored to the people?
If we can't pin him down on this and get to the truth how is it you believe we could get anywhere with any other "real" crimes?
Can someone please inform the Wall Street Journal that Obama’s own SISTER has a Hawaiian “Certification of Live Birth” even though she ADMITS she was born in Indonesia? THAT is why we do not trust the effing document!
You said — What are you on?

It doesn’t take much on these birther threaads... :-)
No... really, I’m trying to restrain the laugh... but I can’t do it.... signing off now... quick...
Style point, Star.
I’ve noticed that people who are nervous or not comfortable with their arguments tend to overuse “LOL”. Kind of like a bay leaf in soup. One or 2 is O.K. but 127 ruins it.
You’ve posted it more than everyone else put together.
Something you want to tell us?
No no no, Star Traveler quickly tried to edit the history, claiming she said she predicted somone from HI would come out and say that was erroneous. Didn’t she ping you? ... Bwahahaha, pissant we’re not supposed to notice her lies.
Ah, you admit you went to get another pair, eh?
I'm sure you wore the first set out, LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
You said — Well, we’re glad to know that you find the shredding of the Constitution so humorous.
—
Well, I find that I have to repeat the *basics* of the Constitution frequently on this issue, so I’ll be sure to do it for you, too... here...
Yes, there is a Constitution and here is what it says, in regards to qualifications. The Constitution says that a candidate must be the following in order to qualify for the office. The candidate must ...
*be* 35 years or older
*be* a resident 14 years or more
*be* a natural born citizen
And Obama has sworn under oath that he *is* (as the Constitution says he must *be*)...
It does not say what is necessary to show it, prove it or what any means for vetting is. Thats up to the states themselves to vet and make sure that the candidates meet the qualifications.
And what they have done is sworn an oath that they are qualified..., Obama has, the other candidates have and they have in the past...
And in addition the State of Hawaii says that he *is* exactly what the Constitution says he must *be*...
http://hawaii.gov/health/about/pr/2009/09-063.pdf
I, Dr. Chiyome Fukino, Director of the Hawaii State Department of Health, have seen the original vital records maintained on file by the Hawaii State Department of Health verifying Barack Hussein Obama was born in Hawaii and is a natural-born American citizen. I have nothing further to add to this statement or my original statement issued in October 2008 over eight months ago.
This shows that there is no Constitutional issue or question. So, when there is no Constitutional issue at problem here with the Qualifications for office, why would the Supreme Court get involved? Which is why they didnt get involved.
But, there is plenty of political issues to deal with, in terms of conservatives opposing Marxist/liberal/leftist policies, legislation and agendas.
She did say that. Once, maybe twice. But for the next 2 days she just stated it as FACT that HI tossed all the records. Too stupid to use an ounce of common sense, I guess.
