Mormons: The Most Conservative Religious Group In America

That's according to a new report from Pew, released today and based on data from the group's 2007 U.S. Religious Landscape Survey.

More Mormons (60 percent) identify themselves as conservatives than any other religious group; they also lead every other group in GOP party identification (at 65 percent)--much higher than the general population in both categories

No you didn’t. You can’t explain away what is plainly stated in the text. The words “life of the mother or well being” leaves it open to anything someone can get a doctor to say impacts negatively on the well being of the mother.

Sorry, I don’t play BS.

It is not “compromising with sin” to be unwilling to force an innocent rape victim to bear the child of her rapist.

You tell 'em!!

We will allow the INNOCENT child to be killed instead!

1 Nephi 15:32

And it came to pass that I said unto them that it was a representation of things both temporal and spiritual; for the day should come that they must be judged of their works,

THE BOOK OF JACOB
THE BROTHER OF NEPHI
CHAPTER 2

24 Behold, David and Solomon truly had many wives and concubines, which thing was abominable before me, saith the Lord.
25 Wherefore, thus saith the Lord, I have led this people forth out of the land of Jerusalem, by the power of mine arm, that I might raise up unto me a righteous branch from the fruit of the loins of Joseph.
26 Wherefore, I the Lord God will not suffer that this people shall do like unto them of old.
  27 Wherefore, my brethren, hear me, and hearken to the word of the Lord: For there shall not any man among you have save it be one wife; and concubines he shall have none;
28 For I, the Lord God, delight in the chastity of women. And whoredoms are an abomination before me; thus saith the Lord of Hosts.
29 Wherefore, this people shall keep my commandments, saith the Lord of Hosts, or cursed be the land for their sakes.
30 For if I will, saith the Lord of Hosts, raise up seed unto me, I will command my people; otherwise they shall hearken unto these things.
31 For behold, I, the Lord, have seen the sorrow, and heard the mourning of the daughters of my people in the land of Jerusalem, yea, and in all the lands of my people, because of the wickedness and abominations of their husbands.
32 And I will not suffer, saith the Lord of Hosts, that the cries of the fair daughters of this people, which I have led out of the land of Jerusalem, shall come up unto me against the men of my people, saith the Lord of Hosts.

Specifically: "The Church opposes abortion and counsels its members not to submit to or perform an abortion except in the rare cases where, in the opinion of competent medical counsel, the life or good health of the mother is seriously endangered or where the pregnancy was caused by rape and produces serious emotional trauma in the mother...

I’m comparing forcing a woman to bear a rapist’s child with Saudi extremism.

No...

Killing the FETUS' mother because of the SHAME brought to the 'family' is the MUSLIM way!

I've read and re-read the bible over a thirty times from cover to cover and have never found anything that either explicitly or implicitly leads to the conclusion that God would be pleased with the Murder of one of his creations in whatever stage of life they maybe.

Maybe you missed the LDS edition of the Bible.

Bible, LDS Edition: Large, Blue Genuine Leather, Indexed
by LDS Distribution Center (Publisher)

This Bible is made with top-grain leather covers, lightweight acid-free paper, gilded page edges, ribbon markers and thumb-indexing. The color and texture of leather scriptures may vary.

The LDS Edition of the King James Version of the Bible contains cross-references to all the standard works, a Topical Guide, a Bible Dictionary, a section of maps and pictures, and footnote references to the Joseph Smith Translation.

Romney supported the Law just like all of the elected officals.

Those who could have and has the authority to changed it in the House and Senate still haven’t done so!

You seem to ignore what was in Romney authority Romney did take time to VETO things that came across his desk which would have given more liberties to the pro abortionist.

The Mass. Socailist government that did pre exist there before Romney, an is deeply entrenched continues dismantle and do as they please no matter who is on the right of them.

This is so futile talking to stones is getting boulder.

It is too nice of a day to waste here!

And my question to you is, Where in the Bible do you find support for your position? You are the one claiming that my position is “non-Biblical.” I’m not the one basing my argument on that.

Where in the Bible do you find the “life of the mother” exception? You don’t. I guess there are a few absolutists who would deny even that exception, and say, “Let God’s will be done,” even if it meant that a woman might die and leave behind a motherless family.

God gave us brains. At the moment of conception you have a “life,” with unique genes, and the potential to grow into an independent, unique human. It is, in my opinion, sacred. That’s why I don’t support the creation of embryos just for the purpose of destroying them in research.

But an embryo is not a baby, and God doesn’t treat them that way, nor do we. Something like 25% of all embryos are aborted naturally. They never implant, but we don’t mourn them. We don’t believe there are billions of embryos in Heaven who never got a chance to grow into human beings.

If I had to explain a philosophical underpinning for my beliefs, I think it is choice and accountability and personal responsibility, respect for life, and welcoming children that you create through your own voluntary acts.

That’s why I support in vitro fertilization, even though some embryos are almost inevitably destroyed in the process. The intent is to create a living child. We are at odds with the absolutists on this, too.

I don’t mind a respectful discussion on this. I think good people can disagree on this and still be good people — and still be pro-life.

My point it, there’s no Biblical scripture saying that it isn’t. That’s why, even among Protestant denominations, you find different opinions about when abortion is, or isn’t permissible.

The ONLY killing that the Bible legitimizes are those during war and execution for the violation of the law. Moreover, there is nothing in the Bible that suggests that a child can be put to death for a parent's crime.

As far as the Protestant denominations that condone abortion, they do not use the Bible to legitimize their views, they use secular humanism and IGNORE the Bible.

As far as what the Bible says about God and the unborn, read Psalm 139 (Psalm 138 in the Douay-Rheims Bible).

This one is simple:

What would Jesus do?

Your statement is illogical.

Following your logic, after you are born, nobody should die or they are not human beings.
