The Shaming of Lou Dobbs (Certifigate - the MSM panic continues)
Wash. Independent ^ | 7/22/09 | Dave Weigel

Posted on 07/22/2009 10:41:27 AM PDT by pissant

Alex Koppelman is a must-read on the subject of Lou Dobbs, and his decision to trust the incredibly strange, discredited conspiracy theories of people like Orly Taitz over the word of the government of Hawaii.

When he brought Keyes and Taitz on his show, he mentioned that he’d asked Taitz, off-air, whether the release of a long form birth certificate would satisfy her. “She said no,” Dobbs told his audience, and then directed the question to her again. “Both parents have to be citizens in order to satisfy the requirements of natural-born citizen,” Taitz responded. In other words, for the de facto leader of the movement, her questions can never go away, because Obama’s father was a British citizen at the time of his son’s birth.

Dobbs, who won a Peabody Award in 1987, is effectively destroying his career with this stuff.

What are your sources for all these people ‘knowing” - yet not supporting Obama?

Well, here’s the problem with that. It’s that the birth certificate is not legally required in order to run as a candidate. Only the specified things in the Constitution are *required* to be met — and all the other candidates in the past met those requirements by swearing and affirming that they did. And Obama did that too.

So, when this issue is brought up, and this fact of this very same thing being done in the past, that Obama followed with his campaign — it sidelines everyone into a rabbit hole of endless conversation until the public just gets tired of hearing it all the time.

And that’s the strategy for the leftists, to sideline, to “label” as a birther, so that a conservative’s arguments on other issues are not heard any longer, and to get the public tired of the issue to the point where the first time someone mentions the “Obama birth certificate” the public will tune them out...

That’s the strategy here... and the cause of the *problem* is that there is no legal requirement to show a birth certificate..., what I call the big loophole...

I agree, there is no legal requirement to show a birth certificate.
So all he needs to do is find some other way to show that he DOES meet this requirement:
Article II, Section 1
“No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President...”

Yes, I agree with the qualifications, and the problem is (and it’s the “loophole” that I’m talking about) that all candidates have to do is certify that, swear and sign a statement to that effect. At that point, it’s considered done...

That’s the way it has worked, historically, with all the candidates...

If you want something different to happen, you’re gonna have to have a specific law to that effect, and that’s what I’ve worked on (here in Oklahoma...).

There was a thread on FR from the Canadian Free Press. Can’t remember exactly which one; but you can probably do a search.

Could be. I would never put anything past Hillary and Bill Clinton. They are just as trashy as Obama and his wife. Control, money and power are the only things besides, of course, the cause is what drives these traitors.

“I wonder if Obama is already being blackmailed by his enemies - and by that I mean the Clintons...”

I think Hilliary and 0bama have each other checkmated. Remember, Hilliary's got a few murders to keep hidden, and I'm sure 0bama’s Chicago thugs have the goods on her. Why else do you think she didn't expose him during the campaign??

As far as pushing a far left agenda, 0bama makes the Clintons look right of center!

DeMint and Palin would make a very strong team in 2012. I know; the lefties are gunning for them; but they both seem to love America and the people.

“there is no legal requirement to show a birth certificate”

There is no legal requirement to submit your tax receipts with your signed return. However, the IRS can force you to produce them in a court of law if evidence suggests you’re lying.

There is no legal requirement turn over your college transcripts to a prospective employer after filling out and signing the job application. Unless, of course you are being sued by your employer for evidence of false representation.

There is no legal requirement to produce your birth certificate after signing an affidavit of eligibility when running for POTUS, unless of course a State and/or Federal court determines based on circumstantial evidence that said candidate is lying.

Shall I continue......

Very simply and in terms that all can understand — if there is a legal requirement, all you have to do is cite the legal requirement and get a court order to view it... (i.e., the birth certificate).

The reason why no one has been able to do that, is no one can cite a law saying that a birth certificate is required to be shown in this regard.

And that’s why I’ve said that the states need to pass legislation making it a legal requirement...

My opinion of Dobbs is that he’s finally fed up with the whole RAT sham and has decided to just tell the whole story and let the chips fall where they may. He has the only watchable show on CNN. He may be “destroying his career”, but only by telling the truth and pissing off the RATS.

“Both parents have to be citizens in order to satisfy the requirements of natural-born citizen,” Taitz responded.

If this is true, then why all the trouble trying to prove where he was born. He and all his supporters agree his father was not a citizen and if that is disqualifying, place of birth would seem to be a moot point. Refusal to release the birth certificate would be a good ploy to keep his opponents running down blind alleys.

Book one chapter 19. Law of nations

The nation of the father is therefore the nation of his children.
His daddy was kenyan so is he!

"If this is true, then why all the trouble trying to prove where he was born..."

Because most people think that to be a "natural born citizen" means just being born on the countries territory, and don't realize that it also means *both* parents are also citizens of said country.

At least according to the "law of nations" and as it was understood when the U.S. Constitution was originally written.
