Rep. Russ Carnahan was mocked at a townhall promoting the Democrats' health care plan. At one point he is asked ""if it's so good why doesn't Congress have to be on it?" Rep. Carnahan also claimed the CBO said the health care plan would be "deficit neutral." That is untrue.

Is it my imagination or does it seem like more and more of these “townhalls” are getting rather hostile?

In any event, what I'm seeing is good news! It'll be even better when the pitchforks and torches come out along with the heckling and boos. Shoot, I'll even take rotten vegetables, or a bucket of tar and a feather pillow.
Three weeks ago, I went to my Congresscritter Todd Platts’s Townhall meeting in Gettysburg. This was the day after Cap & Trade passed, along with the 300 page early morning amendment, and not only was Platts torqued off, but the audience as well. At least he was on the right side of the issue, but there were a few liberal loons in the audience who had to be smacked down.
exactly, im sick and tired on those who promoting this exempt themselves from it. If its so good why isn’t congress on it. They think they’re in the house of lords, where they get certain privileges that the rest of us don’t get

There’s another one where Obama calls DeMint out on his Utopian dreams. Don’t you just love how the dimwits always try to blame what they believe on others.
Why haven’t any members of the Loyal Opposition pushed, screamed, yelled and otherwise agitated to make SURE that any health care reforms apply to Congress as well? Imagine the headlines they could garner, leading the charge!
Obvious answer: They like their sweetheart deal on health care, along with immunity from Social Security and labor laws, a heavenly retirement plan, etc. So, screw you little guys ... we’re keeping our bennies!
THROW THEM ALL OUT!!
Anything less than that, forget it.
Wait until they find out that it phases out Medicare.

Pretty soon they will either eliminate that format or start bringing heavy security with them. The climate is such that something is going to happen, at some point. People are pissed at this unbridled lust for power and control and ultimately the fall of the U.S.A
I don't understand why Republicans aren't screaming that to the top of their lungs! Liberals trashed Newt Gingrich when they claimed he was going to let it 'die on the vine' and it wasn't even true! Obama is about to spray WEED KILLER on MEDICARE and not a word!!!
