JERUSALEM, Israel (AP) -- Israeli radio stations say the U.S. has told Israel to halt an east Jerusalem construction project.
The international community considers Jewish neighborhoods in east Jerusalem to be settlements and an obstacle to Israeli-Palestinian peacemaking. Israel does not regard them as settlements because it annexed east Jerusalem in 1967 after capturing it in June of that year.

There are 108 Jewish MPs in the Knesset out of 120, the others are Arabs. If giving way on Jerusalem came to a vote, it would be something like 104-4 against Obama. Jerusalem has been the capital of the country for 3000 years and he thinks he can dictate to Israel on what it can do in its capital, he’d better follow the example of Nebuchadnezzer and try to conquer the country.
I say to Israel, do as you will in Jerusalem!
