I just heard the news that former CBS anchorman Walter Cronkite died. And perhaps I will be one of the few with the guts to be real and say it: I'm not sad to see this overrated liar go. Buh-bye.
Cronkite enjoyed a long and glamorous life, unlike many of our late teen and 20-something American troops against whom he editorialized on a nightly basis. They died on the killing fields of Vietnam in no small part because he contributed to the video demoralization of America and the resulting lack of commitment to help our boys win the Vietnam War.
I'm sure that Cronkite will be remembered gushingly by all of the liberal mainstream media robots whom he spawned and who idolize him (and probably many gutless idiots on the right, too). In so many ways, he is their Michael Jackson, minus the creativity and talent. In life, they already exalted Cronkite far, far beyond what he deserved and completely ignored his awful transgressions against our country.
Walter Cronkite Defeated America on TV But the man they called "The Most Trusted Man in America" was really something far different: The Most Destructive Man in America. And that is how he should be remembered. He had the blood of thousands of American men--some of them really just boys--on his hands.

Whoa. Unique history. You oughta write a book on your varied perspectives on the Vietnam war. I’m sure they would be MOST interesting.
Made a slight correction to your statement. You can certainly lie about history, but you cannot change the truth and eventually the truth comes out.
It's an excellent read about 11ACR, 2/32 FA and the 2/5 and 3/4 Cavs in that area.
I had gotten my knee FUBAR before the official Cambodian Incursion and it was still draining from the debriedment surgery, but with my media background, ignored the medical orders and took some TV crews into the COSVN area. (We were all young, brave and stupid back then.)
We were getting off a Huey at Snoul when he heard a grenade go off. It turns out it was the explosion that eventually cost then-Major, later General Fred Franks (CG, VIICorps in Desert Storm) his leg.
A fragment from that greande also hit COL, later GEN Donn Starry in the chest. It was not too bad, but at first, everyone thought it was a fatal wound.
The book also has documentation on the great story of the former WWII enlisted infantryman, who in Cambodia was an O-5 CHAPLAIN, taking over as a Platoon Leader in the 11ACR for about a week!
ERROR:
when WE heard a grenade......
I wanted Armor, but even after Armor AIT, if you had 2 years of college math, you got sent to Sill for FA OCS.
Ended up as as an 1193 and 5505/5525, PIO and Broadcasting Officer.
BTW, The real Adrain Cronauer (Good Morning, Vietnam) is alive and well, a lawyer in DC, and an outstanding Conservative!
Be well.
.
It may well be that...
the entire future...
of the whole Human Race...
may well hinge on our finally,
during this new 21st Century of ours,
...FREEing all the women of the world...
...into being all that they already are in GOD’s Eyes...
...and all that they can be...
while here on the Planet Earth..?
.
I hope you are right - too many of my sisters are willing to give it all up for very little or nothing to show for it. Including the so-called educated ones. They may not want to be oppressed by a man, but ready to invite Uncle Sam to take over their life. I hope I am not missing your point.
I'm sure that the survivors want to thank Cronkite as well.
Awesome post, DMZFrank!
Yes, they cut off war materials and support - the liberals wanted the South Vietnamese to lose.
