“Strong conservative leaders like Herschensohn, Mountjoy, and McClintock cannot win statewide.”

I'm getting tired of proving you wrong...

“if” Arnold had stayed out of the 2003 recall election,
McClintock would have won.

If you don't know that then I suggest you look at the last polls taken before the election.

“If the choice were between Cruz Bustamante, the Democrat and Tom McClintock, the Republican, who would you be more likely to vote for: Cruz Bustamante or Tom McClintock?”

Probable Voters
McClintock 56%
Bustamante 37%

And it’s a $%^* shame that blockhead DIDN’T stay out of the election. I think McClintock would have been a GREAT governor. Although I’m very happy to have him in the House!

I voted for McClintock in that election. Now we have Arnold. And he’s a much bigger spender than Gray Davis.

But they don't say that it is a Hawaiian birth certificate.

This is really an exciting prospect if Dear Leader and his designated VP, “Stand up Chuck” Biden, are declared unelected!

President Pelosi!

Wow - wow - wow... this could be fun fun fun!!!

Of course, this will be taken as “dissing”, and then, “it’s on."

I've said it before and I've said it again -- I think Obama wants this.

I think he wants a general civil tumult with him in the bully pulpit, so he can impose "order" like Lincoln did, and "reorganize" the government the way he likes, and eviscerate the heart of the conservative movement by killing or imprisoning the leadership "legally", under a rubric of "suppressing insurrection".

He really wants it, he's been throwing hard elbows and high-sticking conservatives since he entered office, and he's got the 'Ratmedia on his side to lie about it.

I did not say that they did. I said they said they have his birth certificate on file. I chose to believe the Hawaiian officials rather than opinions I read on the internet, absent evidence to the contrary.

Yeah, definitely.

The left in general, and 0bama in particular,

is looking for an excuse to use state power (deadly force)
against ideological opponents.

If Obama isn't president, then McCain is. And Sarah Palin is vice president.

No, if Obama isn't eligible, the Electoral College would have to meet again and "chuse" someone the way they used to do it in the Federal Period. No committed electors (except those for McCain), just round after round of balloting until a new president is chosen.

Hell, they could elect Sarah. Or Hillary. Or Joe the Plumber. When the Electors meet without pledges, all bets are off, man.

"he would be deported "

No, he should not be exiled but punished.

How can the election be valid if the person running for president was invalid? If nothing else...McCain would be president and Biden Vice President, maybe?

Nice graphic --- they've got FUBU ("for us, by us"), and we've got FUBO.

You forget that the electoral college elects the president.
We elect electors. They haven’t been disqualified.

Electors elect the pres & veep separately on independent ballots.

Biden was elected to veep Constitutionally, and he’s qualified to be president, as far as we know.

Then we're agreed that conservatives will have to play a very frosty hand.

I'm sure guys like El Rushbo and Laura Ingraham and Bill Bennett will get it, but there are a bunch of them out there like Prager and Mark Levin and Doc Savage that "just don't care" and might go off the cliff.

Well RINOld has “poisoned the GOP CA well” so badly because of his incompetence & liberalism, it will probably be another decade before the GOP can get a dogcatcher elected to statewide office in CA.

Well that eliminates Bobby Jindal too.

Yes, I guess it does. I frankly didn't think the natural born citizen rule made sense as recently as when it was an issue for Arnold! but now with a man whom I am not sure has the interest of the US in his heart, I understand where the Constitutional framers were coming from. They were deeply concerned about divided loyalties in the most powerful office in the country and now we see an example of what that means, and how one can be raise to make loyalty to the US as we know it a very marginal thing.

For, in reality, President Obama is surrounded by people who hate the country I grew up in and are determined to change it into something none of us recognizes. But, in this question, it is just a legal question. I am not all that into hanging my hat on it for real hope. My hope lies in the choice of plain old citizens to vote their interests in the normal way. I am sure this is the best way to get all of this resolved.
