Health Care Bill Will Fund State Vaccines Teams To Conduct 'Interventions' In Private Homes...
Ciber News ^ | July 16, 2009 | Terence Jeffery

(CNSNews.com) - There is a knock at the front door. Peeking through the window, a mother sees a man and a woman, both in uniform. They are agents of health-care reform.

“Excuse me, ma’am,” says the man. “Our records show that your eleven-year-old daughter has not been immunized for genital warts.”

“And your four-year-old still needs the chicken-pox vaccine,” says the woman.

“He will not be allowed to start kindergarten unless he gets that shot, you know,” says the man—smiling from ear to ear.

“So, can we please come in?” asks the woman. “We have the vaccines right here,” she says, lifting up a black medical bag. “We can give your kids the shots right now.”

“We are from the government,” says the man, “and we’re here to help.”

Is this a scene from the over-heated imagination of an addlepated conspiracy theorist? Or is it something akin to what is actually envisioned by the health-care reform bill approved this week by the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pension Committee.

The committee’s official summary of the bill says: “Authorizes a demonstration program to improve immunization coverage. Under this program, CDC will provide grants to states to improve immunization coverage of children, adolescents, and adults through the use of evidence-based interventions. States may use funds to implement interventions that are recommended by the Community Preventive Services Task Force, such as reminders or recalls for patients or providers, or home visits.”

Home visits? What exactly is the state going to do when it sends people to “implement interventions” in private homes designed “to improve immunization coverage of children”?

The draft of the bill posted on the committee Web site provides more details.

Title III of the bill is entitled, “Improving the Health of the American People.” It includes four subtitles. They are: “Subtitle A: Modernizing Disease Prevention of Public Health Systems,” “Subtitle B: Increasing Access to Clinical Preventive Services,” “Subtitle C: Creating Healthier Communities,” and “Subtitle D: Support for Prevention and Public Health Information.”

The program authorizing home “interventions” to promote immunizations falls under “Subtitle C: Creating Healthier Communities.”  This subtitle directs the secretary of health and human services to “establish a demonstration program to award grants to states to improve the provision of recommended immunizations for children, adolescents, and adults through the use of evidence-based, population-based interventions for high-risk populations.”

The bill lists eight specific ways that states may use federal grant money to carry out immunization-promoting “interventions.” Method “E” calls for “home visits” which can include “provision of immunizations.”

Says the draft bill: “Funds received under a  grant under this subsection shall be used to implement interventions that are recommended by the Task Force on Community Preventive Services (as established by the secretary, acting through the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) or other evidence-based interventions, including—“(A) providing immunization reminders or recalls for target populations of clients, patients, and consumers; (B) educating targeted populations and health care providers concerning immunizations in combination with one or more other interventions; (C) reducing out-of-pocket costs for families for vaccines and their administration; (D) carrying out immunization-promoting strategies for participants or clients of public programs, including assessments of immunization status, referrals to health care providers, education, provision of on-site immunizations, or incentives for immunization;(E) providing for home visits that promote immunization through education, assessments of need, referrals, provision of immunizations, or other services; (F) providing reminders or recalls for immunization providers;(G) conducting assessments of, and providing feedback to, immunization providers; or (H) any combination of one or more interventions described in this paragraph.”

Many vaccines routinely administered to children in the United States are utterly uncontroversial. But in recent years there have been controversies about the chicken pox vaccine and the vaccine for HPV, which causes genital warts, which can cause cervical cancer.

On March 15, 2007, Bloomberg news summarized a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine, which discovered that the chicken pox vaccine does not provide permanent protection against chicken pox, leaving children who have been immunized vulnerable to getting ill with the virus later in life when it can cause a more serious bout of the disease.

“Merck & Co.'s chickenpox vaccine weakens as children age, possibly leaving them vulnerable to a more serious infection as adults, a U.S.-sponsored study in California found,” reported Bloomberg. “The power of the vaccine, Varivax, the only one available in the United States against chickenpox, starts to fade after five years, according to the study in today's New England Journal of Medicine. The results suggest that children should get a second dose, which advisers to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommended in June.”

Bloomberg quoted the study as saying, "Waning immunity is of particular public health interest because it may result in increased susceptibility later in life, when the risk of severe complications may be greater than that in childhood.”

In March of this year, the Washington Post reported about the controversy sparked when the Merck pharmaceutical company campaigned to have states mandate that school girls receive Gardasil, its vaccine against HPV.

“Merck also began an ambitious marketing campaign and lobbying push to persuade states to add the vaccine to the list of those required for children to attend school,” reported the Post. “But the company eventually abandoned the strategy in the face of an intense backlash from critics who argued that the decision should be left to parents. Although many states considered such mandates, so far only Virginia and the District have imposed one, and [a Merck official] said the company has no plans to pursue that strategy again."

The Post's report noted that at least some experts questioned the wisdom of promoting use of the vaccine when its long term impact is still unknown.

“Federal health officials, Merck and others say they are confident that the vaccine is safe," reported the Post. "But some experts said they are concerned that there is insufficient evidence about how long Gardasil's protection will last, whether serious side effects will emerge and whether the relatively modest benefits for boys are worth even the small risks associated with any vaccine."

This is BULLCRAP...

and that’s only cause I don’t cuss...

My 9 year old only got his 1st set of vaccines...and hasn’t had one since...

My 6 month hasn’t had ANY and won’t be having any....

Number of times my 9 year has been to the doctor because he was sick.... ZERO...only been for checkups and one time for swimmer’s ear....

His only illnesses have been a virus one time when he ran a high fever for 2 days...I gave him some all natural organic viral meds...he got better quickly..then the occasional flu... I never even give him asprin, cold medicine or anything....

My 6 month old hasn’t been sick at all...thank you Jesus...

I am convinced that part of this is because their immune systems have not been compromised by vaccines...not mention all the other unmentionable crap that comes from them...

I get an affidavit from the state of Texas that exempts us from vaccines...it’s very easy to do....

I suspect if the gov’t starts this, they will have a mini war on their hands....I am not alone in how I feel about vaccines.....there are many out there...and would be many many many more if people would just educate themselves....

I pray to God that this birth cert thing is the undoing of Mr. Hussein and his ilks.....

My girls will not get anything that I don’t agree with.
We will ghost it and the state will never find us.

If you do that, you will experience the Police State that conservatives built for the last 40 years first hand. Conservatives built it. Now it will be used against us.

No.... you rack a round and tell them: “Get off my property and don’t come back without warrant and a SWAT team.”

This is exactly what the ACORN Census thugs will be told, as will any other gooberment worker that comes onto my property uninvited.

Enough people grow a set and DO THIS, this insanity will stop.

Come on people! They can’t kill or jail us all!

It was about 48 yrs ago - a vaccine given at school - with no parental permission mind you - to my sister and myself, caused my baby sister at the time to contract smallpox. She almost died within two weeks of this vaccine and the hospital was confounded by the presentation of her symptoms. She was misdiagnosed for several days. My sister pulled through, but has lived her life scarred by the disease. The City of Riverside California school district has NEVER taken responsibility for what happened to my sister.

"Health Care Bill Will Fund State Vaccines Teams To Conduct 'Interventions' In Private Homes...".

First, there will never be enough fedgov employees to screen "potentials" and show up at your door.

Secondly, anyone trying to force their way into my home to force vaccines on anyone will be met with like force.

This is just one more stupid unenforceable program by the socialists that will just sit on the books. It is not only Constitutionally illegal, but if they even tried, it would be the beginning of revolt.

I scanned thru both documents and could not find this element. I suppose if you read between the lines it is easy to see, but I prefer black and white evidence. Can you please post the page and line number for this? Also, I cannot find the place on pg 16 or 17 that will prohibit private insurance, if you happen to run across that. Thanks-MICB

I commented on another thread that this bill is nightmarish. In reading the article again, I still think the bill is nightmarish, but I noticed quote-unquote “high risk populations” are being targeted by the home visits.

I’m not sure how “high risk populations” is defined, but I’m making a guess:

I remember living in a city where city employees drove around in a van providing free formula, diapers, etc., to new (low income) mothers for their babies. Though I never accepted anything from them, I did allow them to come into my home once or twice. It was clear they were using the service as an excuse to come in and look around, check the baby, the home, my husband, me, etc. They asked a series of questions including questions like, “Has anyone hit you in the past three months?”

We were living in a terrible apartment, but I guess I passed the test. When we moved, I donated clothes and diapers to them. But, I got the impression that many of the people they were visiting were in very bad shape (such as drug addicts), and the babies were in risky situations.

I’m guessing those are the people who would be targeted by “vaccination teams”.

To be clear: I OPPOSE this bill and door-to-door vaccinations for anyone. But, my husband said, “How would the gov’t pay to have every home visited?” and I started figuring it probably will start in low income, high crime areas where everyone is used to the city coming around and checking.

UNLESS high risk populations is being defined in another way, for example, by age. A very scary bill.

THIS WAS IN THE NEWS YESTERDAY. cAN YOU IMAGINE SOMEONE LIKE THIS IN A gOVERNMENT RUN HEALTH CARE SYSTEM AND UNION PROTECTION. THE PATIENTS ARE SOL. eSPECIALLY IF YOU CAN’T EVEN SUE TO RECOVER THE COST OF CARE.....OH THAT’S RIGHT BIG BROTHER WILL PROVIDE IT....NOT

A hospital in New York state is notifying about 2,800 patients of possible exposure to hepatitis C after learning that a former employee is suspected of exposing nearly 6,000 patients in Colorado to the disease.

The New York State Health Department said Wednesday that it’s working with Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco after learning that Kristen Diane Parker, 26, worked there between Oct. 8, 2007, and Feb. 28, 2008. The agency is recommending that 2,800 patients who had surgery then be tested.

Parker also worked at Christus St. John Hospital in Houston from May 9, 2005, until Oct. 4, 2006. Officials have not said if any patients there may have been exposed.

Colorado health officials believe Parker, who is facing federal charges, may have exposed patients to hepatitis C while working as a surgery technician at Denver’s Rose Medical Center and Audubon Ambulatory Surgery Center in Colorado Springs. She’s accused of injecting herself with painkillers meant for patients, then filling the used syringes with saline solution, even though she knew she was infected.

Ten cases of hepatitis C have been linked to Rose Medical Center, where Parker worked until April. Health officials are conducting tests to determine if the cases are definitively linked to her.

In the aftermath of Katrina, National Guard troops joined local law enforcement illegally confiscating guns from the storm’s victims. It’s not clear whether or not the mercenaries FIMA hired to “guard” locations in New Orleans were also involved in that criminal act.

What is clear is no military officer, cop, or corrupt politician was ever prosecuted for this illegal act. Even though federal law makes it a felony to violate a person’s constitutional rights under color of law these crimes were ignored by our government.

The fact that the mayor would order this atrocity is not as concerning as the fact that no military officer refused to carry out the criminal act. Rather than protecting the victims’ constitutional rights everyone from the General in charge on down the chain of command participated in the crime.

It isn’t unreasonable to worry that the military or the mercenaries from companies such as Blackwater that the government now hires so frequently would enforce forced immunization on U.S. citizens.

I could see them defining *high risk* as those who don’t kowtow to the latest government dictates.

Don’t believe in vaccinations? Your child is high risk.

Isolated from the school environment where someone can keep an eye on them to check for abuse at home? High risk.

Christian worldview that’s labeled as *intolerant* and *homophobic? High risk for psychological abuse.

Own a gun? Smoke? Drink?

Can you tell I don’t trust the government?
