Some pundits are using President Barack Obama's throwing out the first pitch at the 2009 All Stars Baseball game to find a new way to criticize him. Apparently, though it was not readily apparent to TV audience, Obama throws like a girl.
The account by Examiner Larry Amon was typical.
"Yesterday, at the major league all star game President Obama threw out the ceremonial first pitch. Now politically this doesn't matter much but for a president who has carefully crafted his image, especially as a sports enthusiast, it's worth noting that President Obama is not much of a baseball player. He pushed the ball rather than throwing it like a pitcher. It was a softball style throw except that it was overhand. All of the news media pointed out that Obama made it over the plate."

My guess is he was confused out on the mound, mistaking Pujols with a wicket as he bowled a no ball.
One time I saw her make a diving grab of a hard ground ball, closer to 3rd base than second. She got up onto her knees and threw the runner out at first base.
That girl could throw. Obama couldn't do that. Hell, neither could I, and I have a pretty good arm.
NOTE to the SRM:
No, he didn't, and quit insulting girls. He was pathetic.
The catcher caught it just before it hit the ground well short of the plate.
But that's to be expected with him growing up in Indonesia where the National Sport is, Badminton! So if that had been a shuttlecock in his hand we really would have seen something.
Meanwhile, Larry Sinclair sits by his phone waiting for a call.
HE STINKS LIKE A KENYAN
And he throws like a Kenyan- a spear-chucking Kenyan.
I’ll have to look at that when I get home - red X.
Kenyans are also know for their running prowess.
Obama was good at running for office~ he still is...
If they are Kenyans, why are their ears so small?
Watch his “windup”. It looks like a PeeWee Herman move!
Maybe he has his mothers’ ears./s
There has been a lot of ridicule and insinuation on this thread but not much discussion of, what I believe are, the two most important points.
The first is President Omaba’s behavior. After his dismal throw, his gesture in the picture here http://d.yimg.com/a/p/ap/20090715/capt.21254fd17d16404aa2ab7526cafd8952.all_star_baseball_mlb176.jpg shows the reaction of someone who had done something of note. Did he think his pitch was worthy of celebration (I doubt it) or is he so vain that he can’t acknowledge a mediocre performance.
The second is the press coverage of the event. The press has been reported as saying the pitch was over the plate, don’t know if that is true... The New York Daily News (sports writer) simply points out here http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/baseball/2009/07/14/2009-07-14_president_obama_throws_first_pitch_at_2009_allstar_game.html that it was not a “perfect strike” and devotes the rest of the article to the adoration of the president.
President Bush’s throw was noteworthy because of his control of the ball and the circumstances of his appearance. President Obama’s should be noteworthy not because of his throw but by his behavior and that of the press.
Yes.
Next question...
“Kenyans are also know for their running prowess.”
You are right, they have monopolized the Charleston Bridge Run for a number of years.
Saw them play basketball against the Australians (started to say Aussies and had to slap my hand), I believe, in Atlanta. They could move the ball pretty well, but that was the extent of their game.
“And he throws like a Kenyan- a spear-chucking Kenyan.”
CAREFULLLLL!11 You are pushing it!
