MSNBC's Olbermann Twice Gets Free Republic Founder's Name Wrong By Matthew Balan Created 2009-07-15 12:11
Keith Olbermann, one of MSNBCs resident leftists posing as anchors, named Jim Robinson, the founder of FreeRepublic.com, as his runner-up on his Worst Person in the World feature on his Countdown program on Monday evening but twice called him Jim Thompson.
After first implying that Thompson and his sites moderators were a bunch of juveniles, Olbermann explained that the reason why the Free Republic founder was so bad was because a few posters on one of the regular picture caption threads made racist comments, that it took them as long as three days before removing a comment thread devoted to the racist rage of a disturbingly large number of his posters, possibly some of the same people who had previously conducted polls on the site on how best to topple the freely-elected government of the United States.
The MSNBC personality gave some examples from the caption thread, which involved the widely-circulated pictured of First Daughter Malia Obama wearing a t-shirt with a peace sign on it, and then poked fun of all of the posters on Free Republic, labeling them, clowns.
Mr. Olbermann, if youre going to call a large group of people clowns, it might be helpful if you get the name of their sites founder right, so you dont get that label immediately thrown back at you.
The transcript of the relevant portion from the Worst Person in the World segment, which began 47 minutes into the 8 pm Eastern hour of Olbermanns MSNBC program on Monday:
KEITH OLBERMANN: The runner-up- Jim Thompson [sic], the owner of the right-wing website Free Republic, which has moderated comments, meaning a grownup is supposed to read them and delete the crazier ones- but Thompsons [sic] folks waited as long as three days before removing a comment thread devoted to the racist rage of a disturbingly large number of his posters, possibly some of the same people who had previously conducted polls on the site on how best to topple the freely-elected government of the United States.
After President Obamas daughter appeared in a t-shirt with a peace sign on it at the G-8, a thread at Free Republic was opened with another photo of the first lady captioned, To entertain her daughter, Michelle Obama loves to make monkey sounds. Some of the posts describe the Obamas individually and collectively as, quote, typical street whore; bunch of ghetto thugs; ghetto street trash; dirt bags; wonder when shell get her first abortion; they make me sick- the whole family- mammy, pappy, the free loading mammy-in-law, the misguided chillin- children, I guess it is- and especially, lil cuz. -no indication of how many of the racist attacks on Malia Obama were made by people who simultaneously were threatening anybody who even mentioned Sarah Palins children.
The most prominent response at Free Republic was not an apology, but rather the claim that the comments were planted. This was, in turn, greeted by more racist comment [sic] by veterans of the site, and a call to action to flood the e-mail accounts of a list of the mainstream media people- people like Don Imus of MSNBC;.the CBS Evening News with Dan Rather; and Paula Zahn and Bill Hemmer and Tucker Carlson and Robert Novak of CNN. Hey, let me know if Dan Rather still answers his CBS e-mails- clowns.
Congratulations, Mr Thompson. I’m jealous of anyone who’s made Molderman’s Snit Parade.
This is seriously one of the most awesomest stories ever.
I hate that Jim Thompson guy. He must be one SOB!
LLS
lol...here is a commnet on the ratings website:
“George W Bush and his corrupt Republican party destroyed America and President Obama is now left with the monumental task of picking up the pieces and putting the U.S.A. back together again.
I pray for my President as he takes on this almost impossible challenge. There is so much on his plate; I have no idea how he manages to stay so adept. America could not have found a man with more extraordinary ability to lead us during these difficult times. President Obama is a super hero in my book.
God bless our President and God bless America.”
And just what were the “racist comments?”
regular picture caption threads made racist comments
Guess he never checked into DU site ,talk about juveniles and racist comments and clowns.
all your twins R us!
That’s ok. I call him “Keith Untermensch” all the time.
Was it a Freudian slip?
Maybe he wished it was Fred Thompson that could be blamed.
Subconsciously. These MSNBC trips and speedball binges can get a little weird.
Its an honor to be reviled by “Orange” Olbermann. Good work Jim and FR!
Well, if ANYONE knows juveniles it is Olbermann and the leftist crowd . . . . . that's all they got going for them!!
Well, even though Orange attempted to honor Robinson but screwed up the name, it still beats having this written about you, courtesy of NY Post....
“October 9, 2006 — A BROWN-haired beauty who claims she had an unsatisfying one-night stand with Keith Olbermann is getting her sweet revenge - she’s launched a blog to warn other women about the acerbic MSNBC commentator’s boorish bedroom habits.”

I am THE Jim Thompson, and I love our Country.
Please be advised that I have already accepted your nomination to be your next President. Don’t forget to vote!
Excellent !
Untermensch |ˈoŏntərˌmen ch |
noun ( pl. -menschen |-ˌmen ch ən|)
a person considered racially or socially inferior.
ORIGIN German, literally underperson.
“possibly some of the same people who had previously conducted polls on the site on how best to topple the freely-elected government of the United States”
What’s the matter with discussing that? I mean, if you believe in the Declaration of Independence.
There may be some measure of hypocrisy in only bringing it up under a Democrat, when the two parties aren’t really all that different (that is, different enough to justify revolution under one and happy subservience under the other). But that doesn’t mean talking about it is illegal. It just means we’re not entirely intellectually honest.
